“He represents so much more than just the presidency now.”

He is a token of the lie. The PC lie. He will be guarded to the bitter end and thus the damage will be amplified far beyond what ever could happen in an honest Culture.

This is not Carter redux. we ar far far away from that “happy time”.

Buy ammo.

Sounds like a lot of "Big Things" that were "too big to fail", don't it?

Your post contains a lot of good points.

OTOH, whenever I consider disagreeing with an opinion expressed by Rush Limbaugh or Mark Steyn, I usually take some extra time to research that particular issue thoroughly.(Lessons learned from previous topics.)

Certainly neither pundit is infallable. They are mere men, just doing their jobs, and can be mistaken. Human nature.
But when someone is proven to have been correct almost all of the time in their particular sphere of expertise, I have found it wise to closely re-examine my opinion for holes in logic, if I find myself at odds with theirs.

In this case,IMHO, I think you forget that for a large percentage of the population of the USA, perception of national and international events are formed and based solely on inaccurate government and media propaganda.

“but someone that is put on this high of a pedestal is bound to fall down...the media will be there to cause damage to his image...it’s just human nature.”

I agree. I was part of the MSM when Carter was president and fawning over him his first year made me gag. As time went on they began to chuckle at his stupidity and eventually were laughing out loud. I recall a famous headline to a story that read “More mush from the wimp.” It was put over the story as a joke, but slipped by the editor.

More like driving the Mercedes to be redistributed, and the people who get the redistribution drive it off the cliff with 0bama as a hood ornament.

Salvation does not come in man’s form nowadays. It comes in the form of a man looking to God.

“The problem, of course, is that his success is tied up in our success as a nation. Those who hope he fails are like folks who want to see their worst enemy drive off a cliff in their Mercedes.”

I only hope he fails at introducing and pushing an essentially anti-freedom agenda. I won’t be the least unhappy if he acts successfully as a patriot. We need him to revert to doing his DUTY to protect and defend AMERICA! I sincerely hope he does.

In this case,IMHO, I think you forget that for a large percentage of the population of the USA, perception of national and international events are formed and based solely on inaccurate government and media propaganda.

I'm aware of that. It's only true as long as we are a super-wealthy country. That's what allows our population to live in an insulated reality bubble, fed fairy-tales by the pied pipers of the media.

The "government and media" propaganda machine will fall apart quickly when reality intrudes. Gasoline at $20/gallon, terrorist attacks in our major cities, a freeze-up of the financial system, no food on grocery store shelves, no electricity when you turn the switch in the living room... these facts will not be papered over by all the Chris Matthews-es in the universe.

That's what I'm talking about.

But what “you are talking about”, has not yet happened.
You have entirely missed my point, on this topic.

Rush is right, and you are wrong.

You assume our population does not also listen to their private local news/current events experts, AKA information junkies.
That would be people like us.
Dude!
Are you not serving your immediate community properly?ROTFLMAO!
They ask, I tell.
It is never necessary to insert hyperbolic partisan politics when answering simple policy questions for people who only pay attention to politicians in election years.

Yes, but look at his comments.

Mathew 24:15-30
15"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,'[b] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. 22If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

26"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29"Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'[c]

30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
