Just heard this on radio (650 Keni). I am getting nausea just thinking about begich as my senator. This goes against all conventional predictions that the conservative vote would prevail. I smell a rat.

This does NOT make sense. Absentees should have mostly been cast before the verdict, and they also tend to be older voters. So how the heck is Begich winning the lion's share of them??

This goes against all conventional predictions that the conservative vote would prevail. Getting convicted of a felony has a way of upsetting conventional predictions.
I smell a rat.
Isn't the Alaska vote-counting machinery in the hands of the Republicans?
To: skeeter
It looks like we will very likely lose the filibuster. If Chambliss can’t hold out - and I have no reason to believe that he will after all the GOP dejection of late - we are in big trouble.

Cheating has nothing to do with making sense.

There are 2 rats. The vote count and the insufferably corrupted Republicans who supported Stevens in the primary because they are too dumb to plan for a general election.

One thing that Stevens, Chambliss and Coleman have in common, Rinos all. If they lose, there will be three less Rinos in the Senate Republican caucus.

It looks like we will very likely lose the filibuster.Agreed. Isn't it amazing how the democrats always manage exactly what they need to gain power - no more, no less?

There is no doubt - the RATS have sent down money, heavy artillery, tanks, A-10s, everything they need to win control of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR LIFE. They will do anything no matter how illegal in order to give Twiddle Dum and Twiddle Dee a filibuster proof Congress.

Depends on where they are from. So far the absentees have been trending against him.
To: mathwhizz
The new numbers, reflecting nearly 43,000 absentee ballots counted today, are from all over the state. Election night, Ted Stevens led the Democratic Begich by about 3,000 votes. Wow. That's amazing. It's as if all laws of probability have been somehow been suspended because wouldn't mistakes be just about evenly distributed?
To: strongbow
Remember Begich’s photoradar? What a real time crook. I still think Teddy will win this. Didn’t they say most of the absentee votes from overseas were reg repubs. Ain’t no repub in Ak ever going to vote for mark begich, he’s like ted kennedy. No way.
