Herman’s Hermits was really the last of the good metal bands.

LOL. Gotcha.

I guess I am so used to everyone reading these satire articles on FR and *really* believing them!

They will go down in history as one of the best. I think they’re somewhat overrated (i.e. “they’re the best of all time”), but definitely the best of the 90’s. They defined the 90’s.
In-Utero, to me, was just one big suicide trance. I only like Nevermind and the Unplugged album, the rest I could care less about. It will also take YEARS for me to ever listen to the aforementioned albums again because they’re so Debbie Downer.

I think I completely agree with you on this.

Nevermind defines Nirvana for me.

Their earlier stuff does not do much for me
and the later stuff I saw on MTV sorta sucked.

But Nevermind was the first album in twenty years
where every song was at least pretty good, and
several were very good.

(Rumors, is the only exception I can think of)

I think history will regard them as one of the
best bands ever. Stairway to Heaven rocked my
world at the time, but Nevermind did the same
thing twenty years later.

I like Zeppelin too, but Up the Irons for me.

OMG! Someone who agrees! I think the big band wagon of “Suicidal, I’m a Loser” music was just another vague subliminal form of population control! HA! —Get ‘em while they’re young and moody. Muah ha ha ok, maybe not, but daggone! Yes, I prefer to be pumped up with music, not bummed out all the time.

I love the S & M album, and I watch the DVD of the concert every now and then.
