McCain also opposed Bush’s tax cuts as tax cuts for the rich. Same old , tired class warfare the left uses. McCain would have been terrible for conservatives. It’s time to clean out ALL RINOS for good.

Obama is a dark and scheming character. Negative ads closed the polling gaps. People voting for O had no idea about his radical ties and associations. They didn’t want to hear it and closed their minds to anything negative about the one. McCain tried to point this out to voters that are too stupid to read up on Obama. If the ads were dark and negative, it’s because the candidate is dark and will do terrible things to our country.

How did McCain get the nomination?

Two reasons:

A) The asinine policy of the Republican Party that allows open primaries in many states, thereby letting democrats and "independents" to vote for the Republican nominee.

B) The asinine tendency of many Republicans to champion a particular person simply because "it's his turn".

What McCain should have done was perfectly summed by that older gentleman that stood up at that town hall in Wisconsin with McCain and Sarah Palin and said, “I’m MAD. I’m REALLY MAD. And what’s gonna surprise ya, it’s not the economy. It’s the socialists takin’ over our country.” “I think it’s so important in today’s country what we’re really missing and what’s going on. When you have an Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the hooligans up there are gonna run this country, we gotta have our heads examined! It’s time that you two are representing US and we are MAD! So go get ‘em!”

If McCain would have even taken a THIRD of that man’s firepower and strength, just a fraction of that righteous anger at what was the reality of the situation, he could have won.

But no, the media got the Republican they wanted, the Democrats got the Republican they wanted, and here we are. McCain is who he is and I think we all knew going in that it was going to be, “My friends” until we all wanted to puke. What McCain fails to see that even though they are also Americans, they don’t have the best interests of the country at heart and they don’t love the country as it is. They love it in the utopian idea and fantasy of what they want it to be.

What it is now time for is for us all to regroup, separate the wheat from the chaff, and work to beat them first in 2010 and then 2012. We can do this if we stick to who we are as conservatives because our ideals work. We cannot be Democrat lite and expect to win another election.

You got me just right. I love Kum-ba-ya. I started singing it 50 years ago right out of the Methdist sing-along book at camp.

I’m a very conservative guy. My faith demands that I love my fellow man, so I try to love ‘em all. I usually vote Republican these days, but I don’t fear other voters.

There is no particular reason for the Republicans, or the McCain-Palin campaign, or anybody else to run campaign ads that suit my family’s tastes.

Most freepers seem to prefer hammering at the dangers of voting for our opponents. I just don’t respond to that very well.

I guess I’m just too much of a softy for lots of you folks.

“How did McCain get the nomination?”

I thought it was because the NYTimes picked him for us.

Amen to both statements. The American people are about to get a big taste of Chicago politics. I have a little picture I am going to send to all my Obama supporters when they start whining....you know what...I just don’t care. They didn’t care enough to listen to facts....so I don’t want to hear their moaning and groaning.

Absolutely, the past is just that..past. What we need to do now is turn around and face Washington full front and watch what happens up there with steely determination not to let this country go socialist. As long as we do not pay attention, then Obama becomes even more powerful.

McCain ran the campaign he wanted...he knew he was going to lose...that I firmly believe...and he didn’t want to make his little buddies in Washington too angry at him....he had Palin he could shove it off on and then discard her like yesterday’s bath water. But...that is past us now. It is time for the super hawk stage...the eagle flies with the right wing stronger....

Sad, very sad indeed for one that had such a distinguished military career.

McCain and many others have tried to make much of a distinguished military career but the fact is he had an honorable but average career. By all accounts he was exceptionally courageous, underwent extremely harsh treatment as a POW and was very loyal to his country and his fellow servicemen but never demonstrated either high level strategic thinking nor exceptional leadership. As the son and grandson of four star Admirals and with the best military education available, there was a reason he retired without attaining even one star.

During his time in the Senate, he never demonstrated the strategic thinking necessary to become a leader of his party or of the Senate. He concentrated on publicity grabbing stunts and misguided legislative efforts to demonstrate his independence from his party or as he likes to call it, his maverick status.

His campaign was simply a series of tactical moves without any well thought out overall strategy. Two of his most obvious spur of the moment moves was the selection of Governor Palin as a running mate and his suspension of the campaign to solve the financial problem. There were many other examples of his lack of strategic thinking but I use these two because they so demonstrate his weakness. With his running mate, he had ample time to think about who he wanted and how they could fit into an overall campaign theme but he opted for dramatic affect. Given advance notice and a coherent campaign strategy, Governor Palin’s obvious talents could have been used to maximum advantage instead of thrusting her on the national scene overnight and then bouncing her from pillow to post. With the financial problem, he was faced with a fast moving situation and opted for an impulsive stunt without any thought to the long-range implications.

From his military career through his Senate career and his presidential campaigns, Senator McCain has demonstrated aptitude and talent for mid to upper management positions but certainly not the vision nor strategic thinking necessary for the top spot. Alas, by my count this was the sixth election in a row where we have been faced with voting against the worst candidate, not for the best one. Unfortunately in three of those, the worst candidate has won.

Captain Queeg thought it would be great to lose with honor. Hussein Obama and his thugs would do anything to win. McCain deserved to lose.

Ya think??!!??

That and the foreign money, the source of which he refused to divulge. I never thought I'd see the day when an American election was won in large part by foreign powers.

Perhaps I saw it recently expressed in a work of fiction; art imitating life:

"In the last few years, the world has arrived at a place where we either fight fire with fire, or we sink."

We don't hate Democrats, we hate what they stand for. Do you think that man buried at Monticello would not be alarmed and angry if he could see what we've become?
