I'm looking for link support on the Stanley Ann Dunham's "red diaper" business, about his grandparents being CPUSA.

Of course, Wiki is a bad place to look -- their tender solicitude toward The One being pretty well known now.

They cribbed heavily from the Chicago Tribune article linked below, but they left out this line, describing Barack Sr.'s daddy's dim view of his connection with Stanley Ann Dunham:

The Dunhams weren't happy. Stanley Ann's prospective father-in-law was furious. He wrote the Dunhams "this long, nasty letter saying that he didn't approve of the marriage," Obama recounted his mother telling him in "Dreams." "He didn't want the Obama blood sullied by a white woman."

Ouch.

The Chicago Trib makes the headmaster of Stanley's Mercer Island school, not her parents, to be the CPUSA member. They omit mentioning the redness of the rest of the faculty in any detail. Her parents did join a Unitarian church that had a rep as a "little Red church on the hill" -- it got that reputation, we learn elsewhere, in part because of its extracurricular activities "building consciousness" and in part because the card-carrying Mercer Island schoolmaster had been the congregation's president at one time.

Rense.com has a sulphurous sidewalk-psychological rant by "Lame Cherry" on the origins of Barack Obama, but after reading it, you wonder what you've got. Read it at arm's length. (No link, not me.)

This article is one of the best: Obama's mother was the real Red, although not a Party member. Her parents had to have some pink leanings or they would not have moved the family from Seattle to Mercer Island so Stanley Ann could attend the brand-new school heavy with Marxist critical-theory teachers. One description of Obama's American grandfather is that he thought of himself, after a time, as a "freethinker", even a bohemian.

The best summary article on Barack Obama, his family, and his close early associates who educated him before he departed Hawaii for Occidental College and the Red halls of Columbia University, is this one in the American Thinker:

In a few years, when we're all sick to death of Chicago-style politics that owes more to guys who used to carry violin cases, we'll look back longingly at the simple courtesy and decorum of Laura and Dubya's White House -- and Nancy's.

Even MoDo gets it in one of her recent NYT rants, as she recalls, and recoils from, the "Motel Six" White House run by Slick and Beast.

One of the other links I found was a speculative article that wondered whether Obama's link to Bill Ayers and the Weathermen wasn't in fact forged by Mama Stanley instead. Thinking about it a bit, she was a very close, almost exact contemporary of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. They were all "war babies" -- most of the radicals were (and the Boomers get all the blame) -- members of the so-called "Silent Generation", shoehorned in between the Beat Generation (a.k.a. "Depression babies") and the Boomers.

The main difference between Stanley Ann Dunham and the Weathermen would have been that her preceptors were members of Old Left, Stalinist front organizations on the West Coast (like Angela Davis), whereas the Weathermen grew out of the New Left (the SDS).

We will probably see a lot more of the cocky hussein since he was elected. Before, he only did the finger on the side. Now he will go full throttle with his slime attacks and without any remorse.

A commentator on Washington Week tonight mentioned that Obama “had to apologize” to Nancy Reagan for his misstep, an insignificant portion of his otherwise amazing and triumphant press conference. Giggles all around, and down the memory hole by midnight. No mention of his personality change, and his sudden inability to speak without a teleprompter. No wait...

Thanks for sharing all the additional info and links on Obama and his family. Rush has stated that he didn’t believe Obama accidentally fell in with Wright, Ayers, etc. He felt Obama has actually sought out people who shared the same views as him which lends credence to his grandparents being members of the communist party. I came across a UK article that reported Stanley Dunham and Frank Marshall Davis met in Hawaii in the 60’s. They would drink and smoke pot together. One interesting thing to note is that Davis, Stanley Dunham, and his wife Madelyn were all born in Kansas. Davis was born in 1905, and Dunham in 1918. I had wondered if these two men’s paths might have crossed before Hawaii, but haven’t found anything to prove it. It just seemed strange to me that these individuals, born in the same state, ended up living close to each other on an island in the Pacific.

Yes, it would be interesting to see if the Dunham pere's name showed up in a check of the Venona Papers, to see if perhaps he were an underground cell member with Davis in Kansas.

The article in Thinker stated that Davis was vectored to Hawaii by Paul Robeson (a Party member), and that Davis went there although he wasn't (supposedly) a card-carrying member of the Party. Moreover, Hawaii was chosen as a haven of refuge from Richard Nixon, J. Edgar Hoover, "McCarthyism", and HUAC.

Perhaps Davis wasn't the only Party asset directed thither, where the Party had effectively captured the state Democratic Party (hello! any themes resonate there?!) and the International Longshore Workers' Union (ILWU), and could thus more effectively protect its members both aboveground and underground.
