The McCain aides really ill-served Palin. When Palin was being smeared left and right by the media, she wanted to address those smears. But the McCain felt it would be a distract from the campaign themes. Because Palin was being sheltered, her favarable ratings dropped. In order to fight the MSM, we have confront the smears head on.
