Senior campaign officials blame Schuenemann specifically for stories about the way Wallace and chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt mishandled Palin's rollout

Of course Nicolle Wallace and chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt did grossly mishandle Palin's rollout, but RINO losers like those two and McCain have their fweelings hurt by the truth.

McCain DESERVED to lose, he worked hard for it

“So what exactly was John McCain’s campaign message, anyway?”

I don’t know. I don’t even know if John knows.

I tend to question these MSM reports about troubles within the McCain campaign. Keep in mind MSM wants to distract people from their failure to vet Obama. What better way to brainwash the public as to why McCain lost, then to say McCain lost because of disagreements among the people in the campaign.

For myself I believe it is difficult for either party to have a longterm Senator or Representative as their nominee. Those Senators or Representatives have had to compromise too many times to get a piece of legislation passed.

Every compromise becomes a skeleton in their closet that will be used against them in a Presidential Election.

With Romney likely toast, looks like Jindal in the pole position with Palin 2 carlengths back. Is there anyone else who can pull onto the lead lap?

Mark Sanford can bring home the bacon.

I thought that McCain’s main message was that Obama was a fine family man with many accomplishments and Americans had nothing to fear from him as President.

Palin Has to write a book Detailing what happened to her on the campaign and in the media. It would be a best seller and clear her name. Plus detail her real positions.

Similar to Bob Dole’s, as far as I can tell.

So is McCain in line to do a Viagra commercial, too?

"Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading "disinformation" about campaign aides"

Sounds more like Scheunemann may have been countering the disinformation that had already been spread against Sarah Palin!! Anyone who takes his stand with Sarah against the garbage that was being passed around about how the campaign botched the "roll-out" of Palin, the wardrobe issue, etc. has initial credibility with ME, pending further info.

Davis and the McCain campaign had a TREMENDOUS asset in Governor Palin and they totally botched the first month, then allowed asinine rumors to take hold.....

Scheunemann became close with Palin during her debate prep process.

Does this mean that Scheunemann was taking her side and now he's thrown under the bus?!

Wow! At least when the election was over the bashing of Goldwater stopped -- I recall a couple of columns even asking, "Did we go too far destroying Goldwater?"

The RINOs must hate Gov. Palin almost as much as the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) hates her.

It's not the first time a conservative is targeted by the MSM employees and the Republican Party "elite" -- just imagine what the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) is planning.

Nelson Rockefeller told his staff that, in the words of his public relations head, Stuart Spencer, "We had to destroy Barry Goldwater as a member of the human race."

Someone should hijack the USS Republican, right now we are headed for the rocks and shoals..

As for this stuff, there were several errors that Davis made:

1. Utter lack of on the ground organization, there was no campaign infrastructure, when Gov Palin came to town, they were signing people up and it was in late October for goodness sakes.

2. Message...there was a message? What was it?

Too many cooks, an impulsive McCain rolling over for the bailout, that was foolish.

Ehh...a new broom sweeps clean!

My father said this is what he and all his co-workers were complaining about today. He said everyone felt her family got savaged she was made to look like a moron and nobody even batted an eye.

I’ve been wondering about that today — she HAS TO come out with a book of some kind b/c there must be so much to set straight in the record..... plus she can articulate her own ideas and principles without the distortions of a campaign that was not run by her, etc. Even though she was only at this for 2 months it was an historic campaign and it could be a riveting book.

Of course, laying the groundwork for leading on conservative issues, winning future national campaigns, etc. would just be a bonus!
