Great.... Well, I voted against it at least... I was hoping there would be at least one piece of good news from this election, but no, it appears to be entirely dismal from top down.

You forgot the other difference, a patient chooses death but the baby doesn’t get a choice.

There is a certain portion of the population in general who I hope takes advantage of this!

I am disgusted with this. Even in my conservative county in eastern WA, which voted heavily for McCain, this initiative was easily approved.

That is the game plan and unfortunately it is going to spread from there, held up as the model for every state to follow.

I believe that's another way of saying that the state will provide a compassionate way to put the old, the sick, and the depressed down like dogs. You're exactly right about that.

Shocked!
Seriously, what this election, and other recent life experiences have taught me: being a gentlman is a loser. Rudeness wins. In business, and in politics.

But both involve a physician getting blood on his/her hands too. Just like the pharmacists who will be forced to dispense abortifacients, MDs will also one day be forced to participate in this act of killing too.

Wash. voters approve assisted suicide initiativeDidn't they already do that when they elected Patrica Bin Murray to the U.S. Senate?

Here in Washington, Obama drew out so many Democrats, we passed the largest sales tax increase ever to pay for a light rail that few will ride. We became the 2nd state to allow Dr. assisted suicide, and we voted No on synchronizing traffic lights so we spend less time with cars at idle wasting gas. And the much hated Gov. Gegoire, who stole the election away from challenger Rossi in 2004 only after finding enough lost votes to pull ahead in the 3rd recount. She beet Rossi in the rematch by a big margin.

They never do. I've lived here over 20 years, and the ONLY pro-life victory I can recall is when we defeated I-119 in 1992. I don't think the Marxists/Socialists here have ever voted pro-life on any abortion measure. If it involves sucking out a baby, they're all for it.

Uh, I don't think you “got” the point... I think they're saying- sarcastically, of course- that if that's what the left wants, let them have it, thus reducing their own numbers. Does that help? Remember, it's SARCASM.

A vote means nothing in the state of Washington. The State imposes it’s will upon the sheeple, and the sheeple accept it carte blanche. This is no longer America. It is Amerika!

“Assisted suicide” is NOTHING more than a repackaged version of euthanasia.
What a doctor is being asked to do here is to prescribe drugs that if taken as directed WILL ONLY result in the patient’s death. This is the doctor killing the patient. If a person has strep throat, the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic and if this is taken as directed, the strep throat will go away — we DO NOT call this “physician assisted” medical treatment.

Then they should denote it as sarcasm or come back and clarify. Because there have been a lot of posts on here over the years where a person has expressed this point and been totally serious.
