Sadly, I don’t see Palin as being up to it. For all the enthusiasm she supposedly generated, she didn’t provide much of anything in the way of votes.

Barnes (I think) on Fox said that she probably gained him 4 percentage points. This was based on the proportion of those who said she mattered in their voting decision, who then voted for McCain-Palin.

"she didn’t provide much of anything in the way of votes. "

Well, Governor Palin is one of the main reasons I even bothered to vote. I would guess that the final count would have been 70%-25% in favor of obama if Sarah had not energized the base.

McCain was never my pick, and I have never seen a more lackluster candidate - even Bob Dole was more exciting than McCain.

Now, whether she can be elected in 2012 on her own, is another question, but she was the wind beneath McCains wings this time.

TECHNICAL EDITOR WROTE: "Let’s find our 2012 candidate NOW, prep him or her, and get him or her started NOW on unseating Obama."

I'm ready! I have been wearing my "Palin in 2012" button for several WEEKS now!!!

FRANKIEP WROTE: "Sadly, I don’t see Palin as being up to it. For all the enthusiasm she supposedly generated, she didn’t provide much of anything in the way of votes."

SARAH PALIN SAVED MCLAME'S BACON---REPEATEDLY!!!

With all of McLame's screwups, had it not been for his having adding Sarah to the ticket, he would probably lost by 400 or 500 electoral votes.

I hope Roberta McLame sleeps well with her INSANE attitude toward the WORKERS of the party---the BASE---when she said something to the effect of "Well, they're just going to have to hold their noses and vote for him anyway."

Oh, NO THEY DIDN'T!!!

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW, ROBERTA-DEAR?

Your son looks like a FOOL for his lousy showing!!! With his IDIOTIC McLame-Feingold law, HE COOKED HIS OWN GOOSE and came to a gunfight with a rubber knife and with his HANDS TIED BEHIND HIS BACK FINANCIALLY!!!

AND HE TOOK OTHERS DOWN WITH HIS COATTAILS!

Of course, there was also McLame-Lieberman and McLame-Kennedy.

Can you get it through your noodle---NOW---that "reaching across the isle" is ABSOLUTELY INSANE?

The RATS didn't "like" you because they truly liked you. They "liked" you because YOU GAVE THE BASE THE FINGER AND TORE APART THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!! That enabled the RATS to EASILY WIN!!!

I just hope that the RNC FINALLY WAKES UP and realizes that:

CONSERVATISM WINS!!!

CONSERVATISM WINS!!!

CONSERVATISM WINS!!!

NEVER LEAVE YOUR WINGMAN!

NEVER LEAVE YOUR WINGMAN!

***NEVER*** LEAVE YOUR BASE!!!!!!!!!

McCain’s biggest gaffe, actually, was saying he believed the fundamentals of the economy were strong.

Thank you...we lost this election when Phil Gramm called the American people a "bunch of whiners."

Then your aforementioned comment...and then the bailout of Wall Street.

What on earth did people think was going to happen?

McCain could have pulled half a dozen Freepers at random off the threads and they would have done a far better job of running his campaign than his esteemed braintrust.

You're right: McCain had no clue with regards to opposition research.

BTW, is Steve Schmidt still AWOL ...?

I’d like to blame him in not bringing up Wright, or Ayers, or any of a number of things...but the fact is, that I don’t think ANYTHING would have mattered. The American people respond well to marketing, and Obama has been marketed very, very well except to those of us who understand the dangers his background and lack of experience. Far more so than Clinton, Obama has been the Ultra Teflon Candidate.

McCain won’t resign, he already pledged he’ll help him. He will soon find out he is not a “decent man”

“McCain could have pulled half a dozen Freepers at random off the threads and they would have done a far better job of running his campaign than his esteemed braintrust.”

I don’t doubt it. But may I ask how many of you have ever actually help out in a campaign? Reason is to get credibility, we need a history of volunteering to help in some Republican’s campaign.

I have helped several campaign.

For those who are Christians, they too need to increase their presence in the party, unless we decide to jump ship after they still don’t wake up to this and REFUSE to REFORM.

“Ultra Teflon Candidate.”

Good point, however, let’s mull it more, if the McCain camp has followed up & keep punching harder, bringing up more documented evidence, coupled with a more objective MSM who will investigate & report, he might not be as Teflon.

MSM cover up for him every step of the way, so mud didn’t stick, not for long. They STOPPED or won’t touch the hot issue.

How do you all feel?

I’m glad to hear some of you still are upbeat & optimistic!
Here’s a quote to encourage you all!

“Positive anything is better than negative nothing.”
Elbert Hubbard

If you haven’t noticed, and I don’t know how in the world you could have possibly missed it, there is no shortage of Negative Nell types all around us these days. You know the kind of people I’m talking about, don’t you? Those perpetually pessimistic doom and gloom individuals who habitually seem down in the dumps. And I mean way deep down in the dumps.

If you hang around these negative people long enough, which I wouldn’t recommend, they can drag you down like an anchor around your neck. Downcast and downtrodden is the name of their depressing game. These discouraging folks can darken even the brightest day and put a disheartening damper on life’s lightest moments if given half a chance. The key is not to give them that chance. “

I feel that we should focus on something more winnable, like supporting & volunteering for a superb fighter for Congress. Congress pass legislation! We need to take back seat , one by one!

In years, Americans will see the REAL OBAMANATION! By preparing & picking quality conservatives now, in 2 years, 4 years, we can take back Congress, not that we overlook the White House. Your thoughts?

I think John McCain should have highlighted himself and Sarah more. The PUMAS working with us told us that nothing stuck to Barack and the PUMAS tried to tell us republicans but we didn’t believe them (how the Barack Campaign was). Maybe we thought as the campaign progressed into barry vs. Senator McCain that it would be more fair.

at some point, if you keep punching, you just look like a bully and would turn off voters...

Time to get rid of the corruption in GOP! Crucial week or 2 coming up as conservatives and governors meet, they will decide future direction of party.

We must tell them no more RHINOS!
No more big tent!
I suggest we all emails GOP offices & Republican leaders, talk hosts, to express our sentiments
This is THE time to speak strongly with a united voice!

Also, RNC, Stop abandoning our conservative candidates!
