Pirate radio....sad to say who ever thought America would have to have free speech transmitted to them....;(

There is nothing to pass. The FCC has the authority to impose it and would be supported by previous Supreme Court case law.
Since few of us have ever seen practical application of it in our lifetime, can anyone explain the actual practical application of it in one paragraph, the nuts and bolts of how this would actually work in all the stations across the land.
And, we marched on Washington with 1,000,000 conservatives in 1997. Are will willing to march on Washington with 40,000,000 Rush Listeners to demand this injustice be overturned. I’m in - and I was at the last one of 1,000,000!
If Rush is willing to forgo much of his remuneration for the sake of the country, he can broadcast over the internet where many of his listeners hear him anyway. No matter what laws Congress passes, they won’t be able to control the Internet - it’s trans-national.
All of talk radio can organize for massive multi-million listener protests on the steps of the capital. Unprecedented turnout.
The world will be watching. And the first constitutional crisis will be at hand. Obama claims he “hears your voices”.
That can be put to the test.
We have this idiot on WVNN - Huntsville who said Palin is absolutely not part of the new national landscape. Said she should go back to Alaska and stare at Russia. So much for my support of WVNN morning show.
Conservatives continue to shoot our own.
BTW, RTR from an AU fan and Samford Grad.
The main effect is more of a chilling effect. The requirement for "balance" and the constant demands for "equal time" from the pot stirrers results in a huge headache for program directors, so the best option is to do a lost pet show, or a gardening show, etc. To just avoid political issues completely.
But it will be a hell of a fight if they try to implement it now, if fact, it would be quite entertaining for most of us here.
As far as 20% of Conservatives voting for Obama. Anyone can call themselves conservative but are they really?
Stolen. This was a high-tech robbery, due to all the early voting and the computerized voting.
If such a Fairness Doctrine conflict develops expect Senator Arlen Specter to increase his conservative support for re-election in 2010 to speak against the Fairness Doctrine.
The right cannot refer to this as the fairness doctrine. It’s a limit on free speech and should be labeled as such. anytime you say you’re against fairness you’re starting off in the wrong position.
Why do my tax dollars go to support these two bastions of the Left ?
Why not diversity of ideas at the public universities?
Another place where my tax dollars work against me.
“Bye Rush!”
More like “Bye AM radio”. The obvious move for Rush, Hennety & co is to move to Sirius/XM.
I’m planning to get me some shares (0.28 per)! Rush could definitely turn its fortunes around.
A strategy that the democRATS worked the last few years was to elect Secretaries of State in the battle ground states.
They are responsible for monitoring the election process, and they delivered for the democRATS.
“I welcome the challenge.
The Left will always lose these kinds of battles.”
The newly elected Dems would be foolish to spend political capital on this....
Bye Rush! ........... ????? Maybe he can get on CNN and MSNBC, or co-host with Chris Mathews?
Jeff - grow some will ya - I aint gonna let it happen - and if you and others stand with me we wont let it happen either. Damn IT ! LETS STOP WITH THE WHINING CRAP!
If we unite, if we organize if we speak with one voice and are dedicated to the principles of free government and a free people we WILL overcome socialism. But we must stay positive, focused and dedicated.
“How about applying the Fairness Doctrine to NPR and PBS ?”
Because liberal elitist have run the GOP since Reagan left office - we are the generation to take it back. We now know the enemy within and they will not be let back in. Let us resolve to start something new - something bold and something for the freedom of our children and our childrens children.
