Point taken, I was just saying IF the exit polls show it tight than we know McCain is winning, but I take your point that the chances of us seeing an accurate or slightly lean McCain exit poll are slim or none.

Since “liberal” is a dirty word in American politics (whereas “conservative” is not but “right wing” is) many moderates and liberals are likely to identify themselves as “conservative” or “somewhat conservative.” They might not have any views we’d consider conservative but in their warped view that’s how they choose to self-identify. Being conservative is safe and normal. And it doesn’t work the other way - no one voluntarily labels themself a liberal. They’re always “moderate.” Anyone calling themself a conservative and voting for Barry ultimately lacks self-awareness.

They will NOT be accurate at all, because more dems are more likely to talk to exit pollsters, and many middle class people are working until 5 or 6 and vote AFTER work.

Even though Gallup stinks, latest traditional likely has it 51 to 43, even with their ridiculous weighting Obama struggles to 51, the real number is below 49 and thus he will lose.

What about this BS Gallup poll that has Obama ahead 10 points?
This is crazy. IBD/Tipp was the most accurate last election.

It’s not just the campaign’s fault. Frankly, it’s stupidity on the part of my tribe. American Jews have the most insane paranoia about Evangelical Christians (among their biggest supporters). They are more afraid of Evangelicals than Muslims.

As soon as Sarah was labeled an Evangelical, Jews thinking of voting McCain jumped ship. I am truly embarrassed.

BTW notice that Jews living in Israel do not have the luxury of being fools. They support McCain heavily.

The Gallup numbers themselves are worthless, but the DIRECTION of the numbers from yesterday - up for McCain, and down for Obama - corroborates the IBD poll.

I was amazed by the Republican GOTV in 2004, are we to suddenly believe that they will not turn out against Obama, somebody who is more liberal than Kerry.

I don’t buy the media spin.

Make calls—here are some script ideas.

Hi, I ‘—and I just wanted to mention that…

Recently, a bill was introduced by Congressman George Miller, democrat of CA to eliminate the tax deduction of 401K contributions and force us all to pay increased taxes. The law would obviously increase downward pressure on the stock market, though forced 401k liquidations.

John McCain would veto this bill. Instead, he will get our economy back on track by allowing a 10% tax credit for R&D investments and accelerated equipment depreciation to create jobs, especially through small businesses.

As a McCain volunteer, I hope we can count on you support November the 4th.

[Are you interested in this issue?][or end here if leaving message]

He will reform Washington by going after Freddie, Fannie Mae and Acorn.

He will break our dependence on foreign oil, which will cut prices at the pump. McCain will employ an ‘all of the above’ strategy to diversify our sources of energy.

On defense, he will not be tested as an inexperienced president as Biden has pointed out Obama would be.

[Best script for NH or seasoned citizens]
As we are all feeling the pinch of higher energy prices and John McCain will lower energy prices through increased production in a environmentally friendly way. Obama will discourage employers to maintain health coverage for employees through unreasonable mandates. The increased demand for existing government healthcare, such as Medicare and Medicaid will create shortages of both doctor and facilities.

Since, Obama has changed on his commitment to use public financing, he has an enormous money advantage and it is only through grass roots efforts that we are able to get the word out.

There is a very long history of far left activism in the American Jewish community. Since the 20’s, the most ardent supporters of communism and socialism in the US have been Jewish.

Like you, I am curious from where this stems. To my knowledge it has never been deeply explored, at least in the mainstream or traditional media forms (ie newspaper, book, movie). In fact, Israel while a close ally is a socialist country. It is very puzzling.

You are dead-on freespirited. Both the old and new testament clearly underline God’s support of the Jewish people. Most Christians know the words and realize that they are to support the formation of the State of Israel and growth way beyond her current borders. Since May of 1948, Israel has flourished to now over 5 1/2 million Jews. If you believe in scripture, God will punish those that oppose Israel and reward those that promote her right to exist. Actually, all of Lebanon and a portion of Syria and Iraq belong to God’s chosen people. 78% of American Jews should know this if a simple Gentile sinner like me does.

The Jewish vote in this country is confusing at best and there is a huge difference between the American Jew and the Israeli Jew. The strong sentiments felt among the Jewish community following 67 have been replaced by a sort of self loathing that comes from the liberal community hammering them on Palestine.

What I would say is it is time for the Jews to come home to the party that would actually try to prevent another holocaust.

Agree with you wholeheartedly. I’ve never understood my “tribe” and their predilection for self-destruction. Even someone as historically astute about the plight of Jewish people worldwide as Dershowitz is supporting Nobama and basically shrugging his shoulders about the future of Israel.
Regarding Evangelicals, you’re absolutely spot-on. However, in spite of this, the campaign could have done a MUCH better and MUCH more aggressive job of pleading their case with American Jews. And, everything I’ve heard indicates that Sarah is a strong supporter of Israel. Why not have her - during one of her many trips here to Florida or to Penna. - address a primarily Jewish audience and attempt to reverse the extraordinarily unflattering portrait painted of her by the MSM. But, in hopefully will not be McCain’s epitaph, he played way too “gentlemanly” to the point of letting the opposition define the issue. It’s ultra-evident that the stonewalling by the LA Times is an overt attempt to protect Nobama from what is a likely damning anti-Israel event.
We cry and scream here online and verbally with our friends/relatives about these issues, but all you hear from McCain campaign is crickets. I even participated in a teleconference last week with McCain and Lieberman for Jewish supporters. Instead of harping on the security of Israel, McCain spent most of the time talking about Joe the Plumber. As I stated earlier, I still believe that there are enough Jews aware of reality that McCain will get better numbers than did Bush in the Jewish community. Hopefully, this will be enough to help carry the day in these important battleground states.

I trust IBD to insure their metholodgy is sound. Their business is their newspaper and financial data and the analysis of that data. Bill O’Neill does not need the money from polling and he is not going to cook the numbers to currey favors or money from others.

The other pollsters just do polling and election time is where the make their money and Obama has tons of money. These other pollsters get paid by the MSM.

I trust Battleground as well as IBD because BattlGround’s partner is George Washington University and they seem to run a clean poll. I have an older friend who was a prof at George Washington.

The IBD/TIPP poll with Obama sinking below 47% and undecided still very high reflects the reality I have expected. Those undecideds are not going to say anything. The saw what can happen to Joe the Plumber or the lady who had the Secret Service come to her home because she was against Obama.

I work with a Dem lady who hates Obama. She is registered as a Dem and told a door to door GOTV Obama stooge girl that she was NOT voting for Obama. (big mistake).

A week later she gets a new voting card at a new precinct across town at a large university with 30 buildings and the card does not show which building. If that is not voter supression - I do not know what is. I could not believe the story.

He husband is a reg Repub or Indep. His voting card did not change. She is freaking out.

With Obama - you keep your mouth shut and flush him down the toilet on election day in the privacy of the voting booth.
