Okay, everyone. I’m home and safe in my red county (the #4 county in the nation in which to raise a family according to Forbes Magazine — sorry, I know, I know. LOL. I won’t mention that again). Here is my final report to my fellow Freepers: :-)

When I left work, I decided to step outside of my office building and listen to “the one” for a few moments to see how motivated I and the crowd would be. I stayed on the outskirts of the rally.

IMO, the crowd was not a good size at all. Nearly everyone from the Browns game went straight home, hardly any people at all joined the rally.

Springsteen performed about 1/2 dozens songs. He didn’t get very political at all. IMO, where I was standing, the crowd was not “pumped up” at all; they were rather quiet.

BHO came on stage. I listened to him for about 20 minutes before leaving. It was the same old thing, “the past 8 years... failed policies of Bush... — the same thing you hear at his rallies. IMO, there was little energy from either BHO or the crowd.

IMO, it was a disappointing rally — don’t get the opposite impression from what you see in the news.

Good report. If that's an indication of how well Obama is going to perform in OH, its not charged up. There's not that kind of enthusiasm you find in the GOP rallies. Which don't need by the way, a free concert and food and drink to get the numbers up.

It’s called propaganda. Go where you’re sure to draw a big crowd and act like the world loves you.

Exactly. That’s all it is — image. The question is, “Do they have the votes to back it up?”

This rally in no way compares to the McCain rallies that Freepers kindly reported about here.

If we GOTV, there is no way that we will lose Ohio.

I worked one block to the right (east), but it’s been so long. I’m trying to figure out if you’re up in Key or BP? Maybe I’m just turned around ;)

It’s being reported that 0bama had 80,000 in Cleveland and 60,000 in Columbus. In Columbus, he walked out of the statehouse holding his two daughters’ hands and was joined by Michelle. Similar, of course, to walking out on the White House lawn. In traditional Ohio, though, people don’t judge things by how they look - they judge things by what they are. Time will tell.

There was not 80,000 people at the rally in Cleveland yesterday. I was there. See my report on the event. I don’t know how to judge crowd size, but it was disappointing. I’d guess 2,000-4,000.

LOL. This thread is my report on the BHO rally. I’m using my iPhone with a small display. The news is figuring in the people who were at the Browns game — just about all of them went directly home after the game. See Kristinn’s thread on this event as well.

There’s a UP link news crew here next to the office building where I work where this rally was yesterday. I just spoke to one of the crew — probably a producer. He said they were covering “election stuff”. I told him the news was falsely reporting 80,000 people at this rally. He said that’s what the police told them.

You know, I think this is the dirty little secret about these huge crowds Obama seems to be getting. I'd really like to know how many of these big turnout events were preceded by concerts of one sort or another.

Probably most.

Even his big “Greek Stadium” event followed a large concert. But all we ever hear is how big the crowds were.
