Sorry, but landlocked places don’t interest me.

the smell of wood burning and the site of it are a pure passion for me. I guess it takes a poetic soul to appreciate a real fireplace.
My own brother, the gearhead, converts his perfectly good wood burning fireplace to gas.
I told my siter-in-law to turn on the kitchen range and watch that instead.

Start on I40 in Wilmington NCToo warm and too crowded.

You know, I actually love the smell of a coal fire in the winter. Its a childhood memory. The crisp smell of snow with a tinge of a coal fire burning from someones house.Same here, too.

It might be worth seeing which liberal freaks are responsible for this kooky legislation and reporting THEIR license plates at least weekly.

They sure as hell better not bring this Marxist iron fist law to Virginia. I have two cords and I am burning them. Up yours, Brown Shirts.

Use a catalytic equipped stove. They produce little to no smoke and very little smell, just almost colorless flue gases.

“Bay Area residents who violate a new ban on burning wood fires on chilly Spare the Air nights could face some of the toughest fines in California hundreds or even thousands of dollars per violation.”
Communists.
The government knows better than you do.
When I lived in San Francisco, I loved the smell of fireplaces on a chilly evening when I was out walking.
To: SmithL
Fines in the Bay Area are not fixed, unlike in Sacramento, Fresno, Stockton and Los Angeles where the initial penalty is $50 or attendance at a smoke education class. It's not enough to fine them, they have to be "e-educated" so they "believe" too.
Not unlike the Soviet Union, China or communist Vietnam.

This is some more work by the environmental wackos, with the AQMD and its little gang of unelected needle-nosed bureaucrats still seeking a legitimate reason for their existence.
A proper strategy will feature widespread noncompliance.
I never have cared much for the petty dictators appointed by our corrupt hack politicians to escape accountability and voter rage.
We need to start collecting a list of names, phone numbers and addresses of these useless barnacles. It will come in handy.

It's safe to assume Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be spare the air days. The city folk don't have fireplaces so you can't enjoy yours.

Is it still legal to burn the American flag in San Francisco on “Spare the air” nights?
