A “day off” from doing what?

Standing in the welfare line?
Snuggling a bottle of Thunderbird in an alley?
Flopping out on the sofa in your mom’s basement, playing computer games and eating Cheetos?

My boss canceled my previously-approved day off to work the election on 11/4, because we have a project going that she thinks needs my attentions. Hope she doesn’t mind I’ll skip all meetings that day. After all, can’t leave my post!!

Obama doesn’t care.

When he gets in the economy will be run from DC.

If Obama supporters took the day off to vote, at least there’d be no gang bangin’ for a day.

"Day off for vote would cause 'tremendous economic impact'"

Of course it would. Last year millions of illegal aliens called for a day off boycott for the express purpose of crippling commerce and getting noticed as a force. It backfired on the illegals, and if the McCain camp has any brains at all, they will make sure it backfires on obambi. Everyone take a day off from work during a serious economic crisis to vote for Obama? McCain needs to call attention to Obama's desire for personal power over the best interests of the American people....... this is a HUGE opportunity for McCain.

This election has been scheduled for 163 years. If that is not enough time to get your affairs in order to be able to vote, no amount of time is.

What a boob! I always go into my voting place early - first thing because a) it’s not busy at 7:00 am and b) I
get to vote before my workday begins and c) I LOVE to wear
the sticker that says “I VOTED”!

NOBODY needs a FULL DAY TO VOTE!

This is insidious. He is trying to interfere with the productivity of millions of businesses!
On second thought, as another poster said, “a day off from what?”

I remember that. It happened 3 times around Atlanta. While there wasn’t any noticable negative economic impact, enough participated that traffic was perceptibly lighter those days. Kinda scary when that relatively few people doing nothing was noticable; put me on edge about what would happen if they decided to do something malicious.

Talk about out of touch. Guess the O figures he’s been out of his office for nearly two years and isn’t missed, so it must be that way for everyone else too.

Yawn.

The amount that Obama voters contribute to national productivity is negligible. We won’t miss them.

*Every* job I’ve ever worked gave me at least an hour to go vote.
They -had- to.

He’s got something evil up sleeve, asking this.

“NOBODY needs a FULL DAY TO VOTE!”

Have you ever tried going to 90 different polling places in your state and voting 90 times?

I reckon that *might* take a full day....:)

Maybe more so.

Some of *them* might be gardeners or construction workers....:)

“NOBODY needs a FULL DAY TO VOTE!”

Yes, but if you’re voting multiple times, you may need the full dayl.

Empty threats.

Even if people did it, our economy would not come to a grinding halt over it.

More silliness.
