yeah, because it was a lot of fun watching every hit turn into a knuckleball pitch in midair.

It had nothing to do with the players’ tenacity or manliness. It had everything to do with the style of the game and the conditions necessary for playing it.

I guess I understand some don’t like baseball; personally I love it and can’t fathom how some find it boring.

I don’t think that dude climbs anything steeper than the driveway to his Brentwood mansion.

Carlin put it best:

In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy’s defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home.

I did not play it in a taxpayer $360 million tax subsidized field.

You weren't very good were you?

Nor did I whine when it rained.

Of course not, you were in the dugout

Not to hijack the thread and ruin your BB rant BUT, speaking of "Wimps"....
If Basketball is a 'winter sport', why are NBA games played indoors?
And the same for the NHL.
The Chicago Blackhawks should be playing in a rink setup on the 50 yard line of Soldier Field!
semi thread Hijack over. continue on....

I have. The last College All-Star vs. Super Bowl Champions game was stopped in the third quarter because over a foot of water was on the field. FWIW, it was totally wicked to watch that game. Games were moved/rescheduled because of Ike and Katrina.

It's rare, but it does happen, although it might be more accurate to call them "weather delays" or cancellations.

I love football, but find baseball boring. Longhorns, Cowboys, that's life.

Amen. In baseball there are 'outs', not a clock to play against.

ANYTHING can happen, and just when a team thinks they have the world by the tail, it falls in on them.

Yogi Berra spoke the complete truth about baseball....."It ain't over, til it's over."

By the way I did play baseball.

Sounds like you gathered more splinters than playing time.

Wow...this came back!!!

I posted to this thread last night...and then (poof!) it went away...and a new 'Baseball Players are Wimps' thread popped up...and I didn't have the time/energy to retype that...so I am glad it came back.

Thanks for the nice...and I do love baseball!!! My youngest, 11, is a RHP...and throws in the low 50s!!! (sorry, I had to brag...he was just clocked).
