How could anyone question Sarah Palin but not Barack 0bama?
I’m not big on accusing people of sexism, but the double standard applied to Palin seems to smack of it.
The VP pick is just fine. McCain wouldn’t even be in the running if he had not chosen Governor Palin.
I don’t see how anyone can even have the opinion that she is bad for the ticket.
Guess this endorsement is better than nothing — and in a place like Detroit, no less, but why they have reservations about Palin given the Dem’s pres. candidate! Geesh!!!
Thanks, anyway, for the endorsement for McCain.
Sarah is carrying McCain to the Finish Line... and for the Win.
Well given that they endorsed McCain, I’m guessing they did question Obama.
Well....knock me over with a feather...DETROIT????
With the IBD Catholic Vote going through the moon will this push the "Reagan Democrats" of Macomb County (and other blue counties) over the line for McCain?
I spoke with a Candidate who just lost a race here in MI, (Repub) yesterday, and he thinks MI will go for McCain, just his gut feel. I wish I felt that confident about MI.

Uh oh! Somebody is going to get a ‘B’ carved into their face.
It is Michigan, so obviously they probably preferred to see Mitt Romney as the VP.
The Detroit News caters to Detroit's suburbs. Although both owned by the same parent company (unless it has changed), I am very interested in seeing who the Detroit Free Press endorses. They are the more liberal of the two.
I remember 1990 when Republican John Engler was trailing the Democratic incumbent governor Jim Blanchard by double-digits heading into the weekend before the election and pulled off a big shocking win. So, I think the precedent is there for McCain to pull it out. Of course, that was a non-presidential election year with a lighter turnout.
I grew up in “Detoilet” and neither the News nor the city are what they used to be.
The News has drifted leftward drastically over the years.
I go back to visit my parents periodically. They used to get the Det News and it was not a leftist kook paper. They stopped taking the paper, so I have not seen the News recently.
Although the Det. News perrenially endorses the GOP, I am surpised. I am actually quite surprised at the number of newspapers which have endorsed McCain.
That makes it sound like the Detriot News is dealing with bad Mouthing Allah, and the Al Quaeda.
Now this surprises me!...
I’m voting for Sarah!
