Easy way to fix Nielsen.

Cable and sat companies should have the ability to accurately report what channels were used and at what time they were used.

If Tivo can measure that Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” was the most rewound spot then surely they can accurately tell what is being watched and when.

Makes Nielson obsolete.

Bill also just signed a new deal with Fox, reportedly 4 years at $10 million each for The Factor, may give up the radio show by next year.

I am sick of the news — all of it — but unfortunately I will continue to watch until the election is over.

For now I still like to raise my blood pressure by flipping to MSNBC for a few minutes - just for laughs.

When this election and impending riots are over - I think I will have to figure out how to never watch most of the news channels ever again - ever!

Wow. Can’t wait to get the link so I can forward this story to my undecided democrat and independent friends. They are leaning McCain..***
Sleasy RATS in a sewer hardly desribes what the OTHER party represents to this country. ((Barf)) In the end, Obama is STILL an empty suit socialist.

"There is not only control of the media, but now there's an attempt to manipulate the advertiser dollars and the success of some shows versus others."

A few years back I caught a New Show on Fox called Firefly. It was a great sci-fi show by the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It got into rating trouble and there was much hoopla and Fan effort to get the ratings up, but it was canceled in its first season.

Then a Movie was made based on Firefly called Serenity. It was one of the best Sci-fi movies to be made in a very long time. On its opening weekend it was the 2nd largest grossing movie beat out only by Flightplan. (according to the-numbers.com ticket sales data.)

Also TIVO was becoming a hot item when Firefly was first aired. TIVO showed Firefly as the most recorded New TV show of the season. Further when the Firefly Boxed set came out it was the number one selling DVD on Amazon for several weeks.

So one has to ask how does a TV show be the most recorded new show of the season on TIVO the Number one selling DVD on Amazon and the 2nd Best grossing movie on its opening weekend but have Nielson ratings so low it convinced FOX to cancel it?

Makes one wonder how accurate Nielson is.

Me thinks this wouldn’t pass a Fairness Doctrine smell test.
