My local ‘conservative’ newspaper has recently started running McClatchy news ‘articles’ as well as Leonard Pitts Jr., another angry liberal whiner. I read the above article in the paper this a.m and couldn’t help but laugh at hte pathetic attempt to shame people into voting for Obama because apparently, if you’re a McCain voter, you are a hateful person, but I noted that the McClatchy article mentioned absolutely nothign abotu hte viscious smears run by such ‘newspapers’ as NYT, Los Angelas Times etc. Apparently, those who don’t vote for Obama are racist hatemongereurs who can’t stand the htought of an African American in office.
I also noted that apparently white folk are too stupid to understand that there is nothign wrong with being Muslim, and that ‘even a muslim should be able to run for office’ in this country- not that Barack is Muslim according to the article of course.
Nope, nothign wrong with Muslims McClatchy- but htere is everythign in the world wrong with RADICAL MUSLIMS who have connections with RADICAL MUSLIMS the world over, and who are apparently ashamed of their own country and attend a ‘christian church’ who spews warped radical ANTI-AMERICAN vitriol and hatred tiem after time! That sirs is why we aren’t voting for Barack Obama. We like Muslims McClatchy- what we don’t like are radical ANTI-AMERICANS, and certqinly don’t htink that they should be our commander in chiefs-
Apparently the writers at McClatchy ‘newspaper’ are too thick to ‘get it’!
Well maybe, but I will say this. he is a socialist and they can’t deny that one way or another. just look at his proposed policies and tell me where they are not socialist in origin.
Consider the source. Dude has never been beyond the Beltway, except to go to Balmur. Apparently a victim of the Hartford Courant’s downsizing:

David Lightman was the Hartford Courant’s Washington Bureau Chief for 23 years before joining the McClatchy Washington Bureau in October. He has covered every presidential campaign since 1980, and earlier this year won the David Lynch award for outstanding regional reporting in Washington.
From 1971 to 1981 he worked for the Baltimore Evening Sun, where he covered the Maryland legislature, and, from 1978 to 1981, was the paper’s chief Annapolis correspondent. He joined the Courant in 1981 as a reporter.
A Washington, D.C. native, he has also worked for the Hagerstown (Md.) Morning Herald and the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise.
Yes, I see. And I confront every Obamabot I run into with it.
Oh, please! One of the worst, most vile organizations in the country is going to lecture anyone on 'hate speech'?! I don't think so!

There is an added dimension to this election and it is far different from anything I have ever seen. Of course both sides are always going to complain that the other is being negative or has gone over the top.
This dimension is one that I am seeing in the grass roots. I do not know how to describe it other than a “dimension of fear”.
In previous elections there were always Dole and Bush signs everywhere in this community. I am yet to see the first McCain sign in a yard here in a city that McCain will easily win. I see Obama signs on every street but never a McCain sign. I only ever see a Sign supporting McCain when I venture out into more rural areas and I see these homemade McCain signs. I can come to no other conclusion or explain this in any other way than that people are afraid. They are either afraid of being called racists or afraid of violence or vandalism. I have not heard one other person in this city mention this phenomenon. It can’t be that I am the only one that has noticed. Whatever it is, it is, indeed, strange.
