She’s much better looking than Ms. Coulter. Prayers for her recovery.

“Police have been talking with Presslys friends and neighbors but believe the attack may have been part of a robbery, as her mother reported her purse was missing.”

Agreed. Could be a random robbery. I don't know if her role in the movie had anything to do with this attack but I'm sure many of those involved with it were not people any of us would invite to our homes.

You would be shocked at the number of tony neighborhoods in the US that are no longer safe after dark.

Or some left wing nut that thought she really was Ann Coulter.

Interestingly female news folk have to be very very beautiful. The guys...not so much.

Regarding why a news reporter is taking on Hollywood roles—this was an extremely low budget, hastily slapped together film. Pressley was cheap (no disrespect to her, but she probably took a pittance compared to what a regular actress would cost) and local. Huge savings for the tiny budget.

Prayers for a speedy recovery. I don't much care for the smearmovie she chose to associate herself with, yet I certainly wish her well.
Hope they find the culprit and put him under the jail!

The crime photo at the scene showed a 50s style rented bunglow with an unkempt yard, front porch gutter full of leaves this early in the fall, and simple clapboard construction with carport; hardly your typical tony neighborhood.

If it were done out of personal reasons the job would have probably been finished. As badly messed up as she seems to be, the assailant may have thought that he/she *had* finished the job.
Pure speculation of course. But even in robberies gone bad, the victim is either killed as a witness, or only beat up badly enough for the perp to make an exit.
I wish she'd been armed. Hopefully after she recovers, she will be from now on.

With what appears to be a Beamer in the drive. Maybe it's tonier than you think, just old. There's parts of Highland Park and especially University Park, Texas (Interior to Dallas near SMU) that are like that. Still considered "nice" neighborhoods, but definitely pretty long in the tooth, with restrictions on how much exterior upgrading one can do, intended to preserve the "look" of the neighborhood.

More recent story at
KATV, "her station" Also Live at Five Video, again from KATV.
More video here According the police statement (video) she was not stabbed or cut, just blunt force trauma to upper torso and head.
To me that makes it sound more like an intentional beating than a robbery.
They could not find any sign of forced entry. No suspects right now.
Police looking into possibility of "other than robbery" as a motive, because she is a public figure.

To the incredible “Joiseydude”:
A person’s life is hanging in the balance and all you can say is ‘maybe someone didn’t like her acting’. Statements like that might be politically correct back in Joisey Village where you came from but making those kind of statements about this just might make you a suspect.
Caveat Emptor my sorry friend.

I took a look at "Club Road" in Little Rock. It's very close to the Country Club, and if I've correctly located the house, it's one of the smaller ones in the Neighborhood. Two houses over, and also one house over the other way across the street look to be pretty big houses, and still in good condition.
Check it out You'll need to switch to "bird's eye view" and zoom in a notch, to see if you think that's the same house. If it is, it's a reasonably "tony" neighborhood.
