That doesn’t make sense..why did Powell give money to McCain when it was thought that Hillary was the candidate? She’s more liberal...she’s pro-abortion. Sorry, doesn’t cut it. It’s the black thing, for sure.

I NEVER believed Colin Powell when he said “my fellow Republicans”. One part of the RINO legacy that forced me to abandon the party this year.
Powell is an opportunist of the highest order. He always has been.

Rarely do I disagree with the redoubtable Mrs Malkin, but it goes like this:
Colin Powell is black, Obama is (phenotypically)black, therefore Powell supports him.
Would he have crossed the aisle for Clinton?
No.
Powell is a racist.

Since McCain is pretty moderate on social issues, I’m gonna have to disagree with Malkin as well.
It’s simply race. If Powell was THAT left he would’ve jumped for kerry!

If Obama was white, Powell would have never endorsed him. IMHO, if Obama was white, he wouldn't be the dimocRAT nominee. He'd just be the junior senator from Illinois and looked at as too inexperienced to even be considered.

My gut sense of Powell was set when in MAR 1968 he sat in an air conditioned hooch and typed out his report and recommendations to the Americal Division commanding general as to the massacre at My Lai. This without ever having jumped on a helicopter for the 10 minute flight down there to actually investigate what happened.
His actions - or, inactions - there render him as complicit as anyone to murder and its subsequent coverups.
