Im not an expert, but I would think if you clued people in to things to look for (that would show manipulation and deception) that they would be a little ticked off at being used, and no longer buy his suggestionsHave you tried to tell your dear friend that?

Will be sending him the article.
As a side note, there is a book out called ‘The Game’, where a decidedly unattractive (by his own description) writer in NYC used the techniques of NLP to bed various women.
The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists by Neil Strauss
It’s dishonest, and it reportedly works.
Obama is merely using a psychological tool of seduction on a national scale, rather than one to one.
Clinton’s preacher (forget his name at the moment) called Obama a “Mac Daddy” (pimp) back in the primaries, and he had Obama pegged. Obama has handlers who are taking this to a level of sophistication rarely seen. Working from the script, the Teleprompted Obama is a Magician. On his own, he’s your basic Chicago machine politician.

I wonder if McCain can counter this.
Can he run ads showing Obama making his anchor sign pausing on the words “Terrorist”, “Anti-American”, etc.
Obama can’t say anything about it, without drawing attention to his own techniques.
Could he go even further and using Obama’s anchor picture command people to vote for McCain?

I have experienced the same thing as you - but the interesting thing is that with NLP, susceptible listeners can be persuaded much less by the message than by the messenger (Obamessiah). After ahwile, those little hand movements and individual words used repeatedly strike a chord within certiain individuals...and the effect can be trance-like.

The ideal will be the ads after Obama's 30-minute infomercial (after they analyzed which signs Obama used in that 30-minute period). People who don't fall for it in the first place will be baffled by the ads, but the victims will get the message.

The article (footnotes, p11) does make mention of a McCain campaign ad ("The One") where one of Obama's messages was incorporated into the ad, perhaps unknowingly.
25 See below, regarding Obamas Statement featured in McCain ad, The One, - Obamas hypnotic command that a light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack criticized for its being ridiculousness probably without even awareness that it is hypnosis. 26 Deception (also called beguilement or subterfuge) is the act of convincing another to believe information that is not true, or not the whole truth as in certain types of half-truths. Deception involves concepts like propaganda, distraction and/or concealment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception 27 The unconscious mind is the source of our energy. No amount of will power exerted by the conscious mind can override it. Modern Hypnosis Theory and Practice, Masud Ansari, Ph..D., p43

The content of Hitler's speeches was unexceptional, and I'm told his German was poor. Listening to him is almost mesmerizing, even if one does not speak German and knows (in hindsight) that the man is psychopath. The content of Obama’s speeches is unexceptional, although his command of English is excellent. However, unless one possess an extremely critical attitude, it is difficult to avoid falling in with the slow rhythmic cadences that Obama uses. I suggest that if you read the entire 60+ page article, your opinions of BO’s speeches will change.

"Notice that the practice is actionable in a court of law."I wonder if we could find someone to file a lawsuit against Obama prior to the election for the use of Hypnotic techniques against us.
It was probably require the backing of that panel of psychologists that someone else was suggesting.

I am not disagreeing with you. What I am saying is that if you are correct, the implications of a similarity with Hitler are scary.
Of course I think Obama and his cronies are into more than what I’ve stated so far on this thread.

When you have finished reading the article, look at an analysis done right after the conventions of hypnotic language (perhaps indicative of NLP training) of the candidates and two other well-known figures.
