Their “culture” has always been aggressive, self absorbed and RACIST.

Do you have a problem with urban legend as the guiding philosophy of America.

If BHO gets in, we’ll hear about race non-stop for the next four years.

It's already been 50. What's another 4.

Actually, I still don't believe "zero" .... not when an adjacent year's numbers yield a non-zero (but still small) number. I'm sure it's just sampling frequency.

Still the larger point is yours, and yes, I think this is going on, but the subject is radioactive and so police and newspapermen work together to keep this stuff out of the papers.

I came to that conclusion independently when reading closely a Scientific American article 10-12 years ago about crime stats and noticing that the race of perps in murder cases was officially listed (on DoJ stats) as "unknown" in 24 or 25% of cases involving white victims. I looked at the other violent crime stats and immediately called "B.S." on their "unknown". The real deal is, they know they're dealing with young black predators but don't want to call it, and as often as possible they hide behind "unknown" when they know who's doing it just from their crime database and police reports.

The subject is politically radioactive among the PC crowd -- which perforce includes almost 100% of police leadership (now, how'd that happen?!).

Which connects back to a long essay by conservative essayist James Q. Wilson, about how city administrations were taken over by liberals in the '50's, using generous slatherings of foundation money from private foundations like MacArthur and Ford. The trick is, pols gee and haw to the contributor of the last big marginal dollar in their budget or political campaign -- it's the marginal dollars that count the most, that make the difference (in the pol's mind). Those dollars are fresh, uncrumpled, virginal political money, which is the mother's milk of all political vig.

Liberals bought city administrations out from under their constituencies, and the People never twigged to what was going on -- because the liberal writers in the ranks of newspaperdom never told them this was going on.

So in city after city, residents annoyed by blockbusting or liberal educrats teaching their kids claptrap, or race riots and crime, found themselves frustrated, puzzled -- and ignored.

And then LBJ got elected ..... and the dam burst for real.

Liberaldom. It's what's for dinner! </sarc>

Powell does indeed appear to be angling for an Obama Administration appointment. Powell will have a long, quiet retirement if McCain manages to pull out a win.

And may the ticking of the clock be his constant companion in all that relentless silence.

Even if Obama wins, ...Powell's phone may not ring. If Obama is smart -- and he is both smart and ruthless -- he will know instinctively that he doesn't have time for allegiance-switchers. It's one thing to bring a prominent Republican into his cabinet, and another to bring in one who traded his allegiances to bargain for the job.

I'm not sure Powell traded allegiances as a bargaining chip; I don't think he was ever a natural Republican. Your parallel between him and Scowcroft rings true. He couldn't make the switch from working for a father figure to working for the son -- nor does he appear to have the same degree of sense of humor as 43.

Tick.

Tick.

Tick.

"Ruthless" - yes, not that Obama is truly in charge of his own campaign. Soros, Michelle, Ayers and the man behind the curtain will have the final say.

Rush always gets to the very heart of things and when he is done there is nothing else to say! At least we know who the enemy is with all of this shaking out.

I don’t mind an African-AMERICAN for President. I at least would like him/her to be AMERICAN though. Obama is unable to convince me that he is an American in his heart and soul.

Exacltly.

“I truly am shocked. Maybe that makes me naive”

Maybe. Being from the deep south, I can say that I would not have been suprised one bit.

“The blacks, on the other hand, are consumed with race.”

No kidding! Light ones dislike darker ones, i.e, ‘the paper bag test’. In that one must be no darker than a paper bag to enter the black ‘social elite’. I fully expect it to get ugly around here (ATL) soon.

He endorsed Obama in part because he’s black, but mainly because of Obama’s social liberalism, particularly on abortion/judges - a sensitive spot for Powell.
