a complete disaster. It’s like shopping at Ross

I've always called it "Ross Mess for Less"; you could swear they have an early pre-opening shift to spread sh*t all over the floor, giving the store that lived in look....

we might have had dinner at the Italian Kitchen across the street.

Or, for lunch, there was always Clifton's Cafeteria....I think it's still there.

and nothing on the shelf my size.

At the Merv's over in Rancho Mirage, wifey can never find anything in her petite sizes. It's always been our guess that they stock according to local demographics....in this locale that means hefty Latinas.

Years ago I loved the Mervyns in Oceanside. Bought a lot of my husband’s clothes there. They always had a nice selection of fleece items (he coached high school football) that wore very well. Then, all of a sudden, the store went downhill. Was it the Kohl’s that opened nearby? Dunno, but Mervyn’s became Tijuana Norte ... like so much else in San Diego.

It’s too bad Robinson’s May merged with Macy’s, many women I know dont like Macy’s as much as they liked Robinson’s May.

We had a nice chain here in Colorado called Foley's (originally "The Denver".) They had a good merchandise selection and great customer service. Then they were bought out by Macy's and I haven't been able to find anything there that I liked since.

Sharper Image also has closed down their stores. I guess they are trying to hang on to their online store.
