Well see in two more weeks.Indeed. If it's a large McCain victory, then it was in the bag. If not, then it wasn't.

"Its looking more and more like McCain/Palin has this one in the bag."
That is a text book example of irrational exuberance.
Actually, it is the people around here who are convinced that Hussein Obama is going to win that strike me as irrational. I suppose there is a small chance he might win, but I've been convinced since the days of the primaries that McCain will win, mostly because even a lot of Democrats will not be able to pull the lever for Obama the Muslim commie. When I see people on FR throwing up their hands and bemoaning Obama's inevitable win, that strikes me as irrational.

Letterman was a total snake and took a lot of shots and dirty low blows at McCain. He barely allowed him to speak, why in the world would he want him on the show if he wouldn’t let the man talk. I resent resent resent him asking McCain if he really really thought Sarah Palin was “qalified”. Who the hell is he to ask that? Total disrespect. I don’t know how McCain manages to control himself sometimes. God bless him. Letterman is one ugly leftist dork.

I do not think Obama was bad. He simply did not have the same kind of sense of humor (and self-deprecation does not come as easily to him yet), so he couldn’t quite “carry” his jokes as well.

I think this huge audience demonstrates a surprising interest in McCain, and is very encouraging. I agree. The fact that so many people are watching is a very good sign for us. You don't bother to tune in to watch someone that you have no intention of voting for.
Also, the episode of the View where the McCain's appeared was their highest rated show of the year.

Letterman was doing the groveling! McCain was charged up and came across as very like able and able. IMO it will result in a bump.
Hopefully when Sarah is Letterman guest, we'll get another bump up.

I guess in the whole scheme of things, I just don’t see Letterman as that important. Neither is SNL.

He goes on the show because of exposure to the large part of the voting public. His appearance was worth millions to the campaign. He was in control all the way and kept Letterman on his heels.
IMO it will result in a crucial bump.

You pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a minute of advertising during prime time.
SNL and Letterman have huge audiences and voters swung over could make a differnce.

But on your recommendation, I'll watch him and check him out.

But on your recommendation, I'll watch him and check him out. He is a comedian, so his routine can get a bit off-color occasionally, but he is very patriotic and quite funny.

I don’t think attempts to make Sarah look like a fool on Letterman or SNL will swing any voters.
I think she can easily hold her own, but why make the effort? Buy some TV time and speak directly to the American people instead of doing asinine skits or conversing with a moron.
