These Toledo guys are better at squashing opposition than Huey Long was. Long was another Democrat, by the way.

It’s time to take action against the Democrats. Time to attack them politically, before they attack you and me.

McCain really should hire him as a campaign consultant or a media rep and have a press conference saying that he lost his job because he dared to question Obama.

Agreed....I would love that.

It’s probably like Maryland...you can get an apprentice license and renew it once. After that 2nd one expires, you need to pass a test to get a full fledged license....or you’re SOL.
His apprentice license had expired.
He’s an ILLEGAL...and nobody in here is complaining. LOL!

The regulations are so different between states, and sometimes even cities/counties in the same state. The regs certainly are not getting any easier to meet as ours here in Virginia seem to change bi-annually. Now you can't even sit for the electrical journeyman's test without either going to trade school for 2 years and working for 2 years, or college for 4 years and working a year. You can still be “grandfathered” if you have worked 10 years. Just to take the journeyman's test!!
The article I read said that he filed the paperwork, but the “official” has not received the completion notice. I'm ass-u-me-ing this was the apprentice/journeyman work experience paperwork. If that is the case, and the owner is licensed, then he can certainly sign on the dotted line, and presto, our boy is certified. Provided he has complied with the regs on the amount of time they require him to work, it shouldn't be a problem.
Now, if they want to get pissy about it, they can. All it takes is one hotdog (i.e. Obamabot), and they can keep this tied up for as long as they want. Someone can suddenly decide there is a time limit, and he'll have to re-file. Some loony can come forward and complain about his work, (a bot’s chance to make a difference!!!) and that will hold it up. Flying under the radar is not an option for him now and it really sucks.

You're calling someone in one state illegal based on your beliefs about what is SOP in another state and then laughing because others don't jump to conclusions in the same fashion you did?

FUNNY! I seriously feel for the guy, and he has unfortunately become front & center for the Nazi Obambam loony tune dupes to destroy.

Good info and similar to the licensing/certification system in my state. All employees need not be licensed, otherwise apprenticeship would be
impossible (DUH!).
In my area, the company must be licensed, bonded and insured by the state, county, and sometimes the city in which the work is performed. Employees may or may not be certificated, provided at least one journeyman is on site whenever work is performed. This holds true in many construction trades - plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical work, etc.

Relax, I think he was calling attention to a little irony, nothing to get irked about. We do usually fuss about the illegal immigrants, so he was just making a little joke.

I feel very bad for him too.
My comments were aimed at the more strident Freepers who love to use the RULE OF LAW when discussing illegal immigrants.
Joe the Plumber does not...at the moment...have a valid license. He’s illegal.
Yet nobody has suggested Joe pay the fee for the license so this will all go away...instead they complain that the government is going after him.
That’s the point I was trying to make.

It's the same here, except they require a “designated employee”, usually an owner, to be licensed as well as certified in their trade. We have an electrical business, and should something happen to DH or FIL, I would have to either sell the business or designate another employee who has the same trade certification to get their license to keep the company license.

Gotcha. I truly hope this is just an oversight and he can go get his wrist slapped, pay the fee and get his license. With so much attention on him, it may be just that easy, or some idiot that thinks he made a fool of “the one” could just make it their mission to make his life miserable.

Joe the Plumber does not...at the moment...have a valid license. Quote the license law you claim is being violated. Assuming you aren't lying.

Pipefitters should be told that under a McCain administration, there will be 100 or more nuclear power plants under construction. That means TONS of work for pipefitters. TONS.
Under an Obama administration, not so much. (IOW, none.)
