You hit on something very important, one of the reasons Obama lost is he played defense, he played not to lose, he acted as if that NY Times poll was dead on, you can see it in his eyes, he thinks it is over and he needs to just run out the clock. If I was McCain I would study past elections like the 68 one where Humphrey almost won after being down double digits in early October. If McCain gives a spirited three week burst of energy, he should win.

Well, good news! It looks like I need to move from L.A. to another part of the state. Heck, even San Diego is more “red” than the likes of L.A. and San Francisco.

When I drove into Bishop and bought my first couch, (Don’t ask) I went on up to Mammoth Lakes and was blown away. I loved it. I resided remotely in Nevada at the time and actuallly became quite familiar with the West.
The San Diego area is beautiful. I lived there after high school. No flies, hardly any mosquitos, almost no bugs at all, no humidity.
Although, believe it or not, there are some there who claim to have never seen a cow. (I've met them—those people, not the cows!).
I actually like what you said in this one post and agree with you on a point— A point. No one likes being spoon fed. That is why democrat surrogates look so stupid to me... they all say what they are told to, and they all say it the same way too. From the highest level of democrat surrogate to the democrat teacher in the local school... they all just spit out the same old same old — something different each day, but each day they all seem to say the same thing the same way. If not for LA and SF, California would be a very red state. Look at the county-by-county breakdown of recent elections if you get the chance.

My family has land 35 miles out of Bishop towards Nevada and I grew up fishing and skiing in the Mammoth Lakes area...and it IS absolutely gorgeous country!

I'm about halfway from LA to San Diego and it seems pretty "red" around here! I was on a plane coming back from Phoenix to Ontario over the weekend and two guys standing in the boarding line next to me for Southwest Airlines were very passionate conservatives like I am...like I said it is just my personal experience.....and I actually look for Obamabots so that I can challenge them but just can't seem to run in to any!
I opted to go to a concert, as the ticket was a birthday present, so naturally I missed the debate. I guess I have a lot of reading to do on here.
