I don't think there will be an October surprise against Obama. McCain won't allow it, and even if some 527 tries to go down that path, McCain will just diminish its effect by denouncing it.

McCain does seem perversely uninterested in rising to his own defense, or striking where they need to be struck. In that way, at least, he is a typical Republican.

The point that he should be up by much more is actually very important. It would not take much to tip the scales. Obama is not attracting a majority following, just a strong base and a bunch of ‘leaners’.

Some major terrorist or military activity would de-rail him pronto.

True, and they don’t care what he believes...no, they don’t know what he believes. But they’re going to vote for him anyway, even if Palin is his VP, LOL. That kind of ignorance can’t be overcome no matter how many 527s throw money at it.

I think we already had the October surprise when McCain effectively endorsed Barack Obama at a McCain rally.
Any further McCain bluster at the last debate etc... may just be sound and fury, signifying nothing
Obviously McCain still has his parking space in the Senate garage

McCain is showing electoral strength. Additionally, since the media has succeeded in making this election all Obama, all the time, it's become a referendum on his suitability for office. I seriously doubt a majority of the undecideds (and there are still surprisingly quite a few) are going to break for the Obamessiah.

Well, the first point has to be that given the climate, he should be ten points out in front. According to this he is ten points out in front.

Back before Sean Hannity became nationally famous (i.e., when he was good), his local NY radio show used to have a segment called “Moron on the Street.” He would ask people who the Vice-President was, who controlled Congress, etc. It was always a laugh riot.

The October surprise I’d like to see is big media paying attention to all the stuff that should be devastating to Barry already on the table.

I'm so tired of hearing the argument that we are not in that bad of shape because Obama should be ahead by 10 points considering the current climate. Big deal. Are we going to feel better on November 5 if Obama wins by 3 points? I mean after all, it should have been 10, right?

I called the McCain Campaign and requested a refund of my donation for refusal to mention Rev. Wright.
I encourage all Freepers who donated to the McLame campaign to do the same.
