I’m originally from Pennsylvania and much of my family is lifelong Democrat. (It makes for an interesting Christmas dinner, at least.) I do not know a single person, lifelong Democrat or otherwise, who supports Obama. In fact, they vehemently oppose him. The same goes for the lifelong Democrat friends and their families. I’m sure there are a few people in Pennsylvania that support him, but they’re hard to find.
The RCP polls (I’m getting tired of saying this) are based on flawed assumptions. The Marist poll, for example, is “adjusted for turnout in statewide elections.” In 2004, Pennsylvania’s ID was 41-39 Democrat, and Kerry won by 2. That poll shows stronger base support for Republicans, so the devil is truly in the details - they’re using numbers for turnout that we can’t see and clearly don’t make sense. Survey USA shows an 11 point Democrat sampling advantage - and, get this - 21% of Republicans voting for Obama. If you believe that, I’ve got some oceanfront property for you. This what the RCP averages are based on - polls that are clearly way the hell out there once you look the slightest bit into them.
These polls are not analyzed with the slightest bit of common sense.
what you say that Michael Reagan just said is what I experienced precisely here in TN
i offered a prime car count site for a billboard and can’t get anyone to even reply....even went in person
Bush in 2000 and 2004 had the board up in 24 hours
but say Mac is campaigning poorly or that the polls might be within a coupke of points accurate and you are a troll or defeatist around here
same folks who said 2006 would not be so bad....
fact is we are in trouble and had better get to work and win this thing for Palin’s seatwarmer
Hey Hildy,
Congrats, I just turned 50 this year too!
