All canceled out by a few words from McCain like another "You have nothing to fear from him being President."Can you say "head fake?" Think about it. Show the opponent that you're weak, when you're strong. It's a trap.

They’re not going to refuse his ads, a large portion of them are going to be targeted locally to swing states, professional media buyers buy the ads, just not going to happen.

Now that right there is some funny $hit. McCain does not have that kind of strategic thinking in him.

....people will have plenty of doubt about Obama by the time they step into the voting booth. Let's hope so. McCain telling his supporters that they have nothing to worry about with an Obammy Administration and going so far as to call that Marxist "honorable" isn't helping......

I can only hope that it's money well spent. They could spend a billion dollars in the next few weeks, but if they don't nail Obama with a decisive, undeniable, unignorable message, it could be all for naught. And McCain needs to shut his trap about "reaching across the aisle" and "bipartisanship" and how Obama is such a decent family man...nnnaarrrrgh, shut the **** up already.

Yes, we’ve heard you people 50,000 times, take that attitude to another thread please.

"For those of you wanting McCain to hit Obama in the thread [I think you meant "head"] with a frying pan during the debate, you might be disappointed."As you well know, we ARE in fact sorely disappointed. I don't want McCain to hit him with a frying pan, but I want McCain to tell the truth, to look Obama in the eye and challenge Obama on the very basis of the socialist ideals Obama intends to lead by.
I never, EVER want to hear McCain refer to Obama as a "decent and honorable man" again, I want McCain to fight like he truly loves his country and sees the very real danger in what Obama represents. I want McCain to put the right information directly in the headlines of the world newspapers by speaking those words directly to Obama on stage during the debate and to challenge Obama's credentials to lead, his associations with criminials, his socialist worldview and the very obvious results of Obama's economic and social policies.
It's clear someone on McCain's campaign staff knows these things as some of the ads have actually been pretty good. It's also clear that up to now, McCain doesn't believe or agree with his own campaign ads. That's what needs to change in this last debate.
Otherwise McCain should step aside and just let Palin have the top of the ticket.

Lloyd,
This is a positive, hopeful thread. You have your choice of hundreds of other threads with the other whiners, how many times do you people have to post the same thing? We know.

My wife and I have observed the same thing here in central Florida: an AMAZING lack of enthusiasm for this election, at least as evidenced by the paucity of yard signs and bumper stickers. Compared to the last 3 or 4 cycles, it’s quite telling. We see many more signs for local races (judges, councilmen, sheriffs, etc).
I would not be surprised that McCain has not ginned up the degree of enthusiasm that we saw for W in 2000 and 2004, coming off of the BillyJeff years. But, for That One - the Messiah - to supposedly be the savior coming off an unpopular war, tanking economy, etc, the outward signs indicate that his support might be a mile wide but only an inch deep. At least here in central Florida, he definitively has not closed the deal.

What 527? I haven’t seen any significant effort by 527s, nor any enthusiasm that would indicate it will happen.

“McCain does not have that kind of strategic thinking in him.”
I doubt that it is McCain by himself sitting around the campaign’s strategic thinking table. The original legitimate news story that leads this thread indicates the campaign will spend upwards of $160 million over the next 16 days. That is significant.
