Do you live here? I live inside the Marietta loop and I do not know of anything at all that Cobb county or Marietta gives to Atlanta. We are well known in the Metro area for going it alone and staying apart from Atlanta. Cobb County refused to join Marta, we have Cobb County Transit all to ourselves. Cobb County even got its Emergency Alert Sirens salvaged from the decommissioned Atlanta's Fulton and DeKalb system.
Yes, outside Marietta Sq. You’re right. We go it alone on transit and maaanny other county needs. The guy who posted to this forum had the tank photo. Another guy said it was bought for Nov. 5th use (Obama win). My joke was that any good like a tank we’d give to Atl anyway. Still learning FR and will make sure to post all comments from others in my post reply so as not to confuse. I was not insinuating that Cobb or Marietta gives everything to Atl. However, I would like better south-county schools :)
Dang straight. While the rest of the county of my birth has been overran with transplants, Powder Springs is still a holdover for native good ole boys.
Douglasville, Acworth, and Austell are sitting pretty good too.
My dad went to South Cobb and my mom to Pebblebrook. It's sad what has happened to them.
Didn't seem to matter in New Orleans. I don't recall reading about ANY police who refused unconstitutional orders to confiscate firearms.
Thisngs like this are why God gave us ieds, tungsten and depleted uranium (and it's also why the government took away depleted uranium and access to anything other than small arms) Maybe in the past some police would have failed to carry out unconstitutional orders, but they are an integral part of the bureaucracy that is getting to be a greater threat to freedom every day.
menschliche Natur ist überall die selben. Our police are no different in their nature than those who enforced various genocidal laws in other regimes in the past. The only thing keeping our government officials (and not doing too great a job at that) from going all the way down the totalitarian path is the threat of the second amendment. I suspect that most of us who haven't had a chance to live in Zimbabwe are going to get the equivalent experience in the next four years.
