The scary thing is that “conservatives” and “free market economists” are coming out in favor of this. Do people really not understand that we are NATIONALIZING?!

Constitutional authorization for this? Oh that’s right, we did away with that old thing a long time ago.

Because they know something most people do not know.

Yes. It is a colossal power grab, a coup d'etat if you will. They want to reshape our country's systems and government and throw out the Constitution, which they have so conveniently ignored for decades.

Wives should also build their home and seek to raise a Godly seed. This does not mean leaving the home to go work under another man at some business - but to care for the home economy, raise the children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and teach the children at home - instead of sending them to indoctrination camps.

I appreciate much of your sentiment and zeal, but there's nothing in the Bible which disallows women from working outside the home. Quite the contrary, the virtuous wife spoken of in Proverbs 31 is said to be a woman who does business in the market. We also know that Lydia was a businesswoman as well. The problem is that we haven't learned any sort of BALANCE. We usually work at jobs to the point of neglecting the needs of the kids and family. One does not have to work in that way, and there are jobs out there which allow for a parent to have his or her child with them at work. Also, there are jobs out there which don't suck up as many hours of the day as others. I maintain that both women AND men in our country often work more hours than they should---all in the pursuit of "a better life" to the neglect of the true better life which Christ has promised us.

If she wants to work outside the home, she should only take a job which will allow her the flexibility to manage and balance her work with the needs of her family. I would say the same for the husbands as well, however.

Again, I appreciated much of your post. :)

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words.

We will probably have to agree to disagree on women working outside the home.

The Proverbs 31 woman is in the marketplace only as a ‘business manager’ for her home. She is making business deals and being wise to serve her family. She is not there to serve under a different master.

When all they ever think about is their own next re-election, it’s hard to think decades into the future...

... fantasies about tax cuts without spending cuts are now shot to hell

But our fantasies about tax cuts WITH spending cuts chickens are coming home to roost! McCain's Spending Freeze is an excellent 'START'. A recession (if it comes to pass) could actually help in that effort.

I too enjoyed the post, and admire your principles. That said, how the heck is Palin-tology: (n) - The science of kicking Barack Obambi's butt! - ever to succeed if Gov. Palin isn't busy working outside the home!

I would rather that Gov. Palin be working alongside her husband as a helpmeet to serve the kingdom of God.

However, we now live in a time where the men of our country have become wimps and ceded responsibility. The bible talks about 'men doing what was right in their own eyes'. That is when God appointed Deborah to rule over them - even though it wasn't God's normal course of action. I look at Sarah Palin as a 'Deborah' of our current generation. I would much rather have real God-serving men step into the fold instead.

Sadly, we may have just started down the road of being no different than Venezuela or Russia, which is just another reason for countries and individuals to pull their money from the markets (and into their mattresses).

If Obama wins, I suspect we will dig a hole in our back yards to store our money.
