Hey, don’t white wash all of us professors as pieces of Shxxx! No question, this problem exists but in certain departments. Say... women’s studies, leadership studies, liberal arts, etc. The vast majority of my colleagues in my department (including myself) are conservative.
I will say this. I NEVER espouse my personal thoughts/opinions to the kids in class. I do pose questions that forces them to THINK.

Nonsense!
You have a number of college professors on FR. The problem is that we cannot go public most of the time—we would be harassed and maybe sacked.
There is no intellectual freedom on campus.
As to tenure, REMEMBER, if it was not for tenure, I would be gone and so would the other two professors on my campus who are conservatives. In fact, the head of our English department is trying to dump one of us because of “incompetence” but is stopped by tenure for doing so. This guy is far and away the best teacher and best researcher in her department; but she could, without tenure, build a case against this guy and fire him.
