I would question too if they were real Secret Service agents. Real agents would only care about an actual threat. They don’t get involved in free speech issues like insulting a candidate or “being rude” as they told this woman. Sounds bogus and unprofessional to me.

Let's suppose hypothetically, that someone actually said what the Obama campaigner said she had said. And let's also assume, hypothetically, that a week later that person attempts to assassinate Obama and in the process, kills a secret service agent and a few bystanders. My point is that there are a lot of wacky people out there from both ends of the political spectrum, and the secret service has to take perceived threats seriously. Maybe 1 in a 1000 are real, but unless they investigate all, they may not be able to prevent any.
