Somehow, the “media” must be totally destroyed.

Right now in North Carolina recent polling suggests that twice the number of voters blame Republicans for the financial crisis.

If McCain wasn’t so “mum” about it, the media wouldn’t have the cover to be “mum” too.
I’m still waiting for him to bring up laws like the Community Reinvestment Act and names like Raines, Dodd, Frank, Clinton, Waters, Meeks, etc etc etc....

Barney claims he didn’t know Fannie Mae was running a sub prime prostitution ring in their basement... right!

Or maybe with Freddie Mac’s Fannie?

I heard Barney is interested in using some of the Fannie Mae campaign contributions to buy the St. Louis Rams....
He heard they have 2 good tight ends and 51 guys who suck.

For years, mortgage giant Fannie Mae has produced smoothly growing earnings. And for years, observers have wondered how Fannie could manage its inherently risky portfolio without a whiff of volatility, the Oct. 4, 2004, editorial, Fannie Mae Enron? said. Now, thanks to Fannies regulator, we know the answer. The company was cooking the books. Big time. This is BIGTIME criminal! Prosecute the offenders! If none is forthcoming then the American Justice System is a sham!

—1993 and 1998, 467 billion dollars in mortgage credit flowed” “CRA mortgage loans increased by 39 percent..Other loans 17%”...:”
Phil Gramm wanted expand the number of banks which no longer would be covered by CRA.”
Dems didn’t...the comprimise with Dodd and Clinton was....CRA would cover the bank expansions...
Clinton on the Community Reinvestment Act: as we expand the powers of banks, we will expand the reach of that act.
http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/ls241.htm
One must recognize the underling problem, though...and that is we have faulty instruments for MBS (mortgage backed securities)...it doesn’t help that dems pushed CRA on the economy...but it certaintly would have been better if we didn’t compromise with the dems in the first place.

I give it until Monday before this whole thing is firmly pinned on the Republicans - at least in the voters’ minds.
