I think Republican voters know the media is full of crap, and are smart.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I sure hope so, once you decide to vote for someone you should do it regardless of what anyone says or whether you think they will actually win. The thing I really cannot stomach is the idea that some people will vote for a person simply because they are projected to win and they want to “vote for the winner” even though they really prefer the opposing candidate. To me that is just plain sick.

Well, I got hammered here in 2006 for saying that the exit polls were wrong and to hold fast, that the GOP senators would come back. They didn't. That said, we must be vigilant because they WILL use these exit polls to try to dissuade people from voting.

Watch out, in particular, for an early call on VA and NC that will later prove to be wrong.

Right you are. Watch out for an early call (5 minutes in) of VA and NC, even if they are wrong. And if PA and NH are close, these will not be called all night.

Here’s an idea - how about using the actual vote totals?

That's RIDICULOUS!! That would actually make sense!

Article also says that on election night 2000, the MSM called the election for Bush. That's NOT true--they first called it for Gore--then switched back to Bush. I remember this because the first thing my husband (God rest his soul) did after it was announced that Fla. had gone to Gore was to grab me and start praying--very hard--that this would NOT happen.

Almost immediately after that, the MSM said it looked as if Bush had won Florida. Of course, the days after that weren't real fun--but at the time there was a LOT of anger toward the media for calling Florida before the polls closed in California.

Also remember the awful feeling of hearing on my (West Coast) radio station that Kerry had won in '04.

In any event, it is good to remember that no matter how discouraging it is to watch McCain not go after Obama, the WORST thing any of us here on FR could do would be to let that "tool of the devil"--i.e. discouragement-- keep us from voting for him. He is not perfect--but he has given more than just words in defense of this country, and holds what it represents to be worthy of praise and honor, and NOT contempt and disdain.

I wish they would all just keep their mouths shut. Living on the West coast it is so irritating to hear them call the election and we haven’t even had a chance to vote yet! Now that has never stopped me from voting but some people turn around and go home.

CYA one month before the elections????

But yet these same idiots like Chuck Todd are coming out on TV and telling us the polls they are taking right now essentially telling us it’s over.

The media and their schools that teach these Dolts are full of it!!!!!!!!!!!!

The exit polls will be way off this year with the Obama people focusing on early voting in the key states. So be warned if they show McCain up big in some areas only to find it be way closer.

If the pollsters are playing games, they are playing with fire. If we go into Election Day with Obama up, even if it’s by a point or two and he ends up losing, there will be race riots. This could erupt into a civil war. It could be Florida 2000 times 1,000.

Blacks have been propagandized into thinking the voting system is corrupt and they will believe that the election was stolen from Obama.

My hope is that if McCain wins, it’s by a comfortable margin so this would be avoided. If it’s a squeaker, watch out.

The McCain campaign 2 - 3 days before the election need to tell everyone not to worry about the exit polls and understand what happened in 2000 and 2004.

Rats still can’t add.

Mr. McCain is leading with men, seniors and tied with women. Yet nobama is winning. Okay....

Maybe embalmers and escargot growers will put nobama over the top.

You know if El Rushbo cares to this would make a grand finale for Operation Chaos. Have the faithful ( us ) tell exit pollsters we voted for obama.

Her Thighness and the One wrassled up 36 million votes in the primary.

64 million voted in '04, which was nearly split, with a ~million spread for W.

Rats are going into the general with 4 million more registered voters than '04.

The only way McC/P can do this is to seriously de-moralize the rat base with a political nuke.

Yep. Right now with this bogus polling, I try and remember Election Night 2000, when I drank a bottle of Smirnoff to ease the pain after the Florida Call. Dem Friends giving me crap, how Bush blew it. I went to bed with thinking Prez Gore, woke up to Drudge and almost choked.

I'll never forget it. I was 8 months pregnant and living overseas...I didn't sleep for nearly two days with the time lag.

The “BRADLEY EFFECT” in the Democrat Party rank and file will blow the MSM away. You heard it hear first.

The Popular Vote in 2004 was:
Bush 62,040,610
Kerry 59,028,444

121 Million Votes total with Bush winning by over 3,000,000 votes.

I’m looking at relative primary vs. general.

I’m trying to find the primary votes of ‘04 vs, ‘08.

Which you probably already have?
