The state has succeeded to infuse fear into the population. And now everyone is terrified of losing their 401k. So they support the bailout and anything the government wants to do to save their money.

This happends in history every time right before a massive power grab.

The house will block this no matter what.

I hope you are right, but I don't think you are.

As much as I would love to scream and shout and spit on this election...your absolutely right. So...lets take a deep breath, keep a stiff upper lip and all that rot. It sickens me too but knee jerk reactions will do us no good.
We live to fight another day.

I wish McCain would show better leadership.

But I will still vote for him.

I see it as a short term fix before election day. It will make things worse in the long run. Hope the congress kills it. We’ll see

I consider my tax money as a loan, so I think we should get interest on our taxes.

“so obama will be your choice? Not voting for McCain is a vote for Obama”

yes, that remains true and hasn’t changed. As PO’d as we all are, a pres. obama would be INFINITELY worse. there are more implications and realities about the seriousness of this economic situation, to be fair, than most of us know - and something had to be done. in the real world, our own perfect solution could NEVER pass. but this bill is much better than what started out. and there is still room and possibility for some corrections later.

"WHEN he’s president, this sort of bail out won’t happen again because the corruption will be swept out.

Gosh, I sure hope that was sarcasm.

So I guess you like Socialism..then?? If we have to pass something why not the Hensarling-Pence-RSC or even the Blue-Dog Bill?

So lets say McCain voted no and Leiberman as well as 10 others followed his lead - final tally - 62 yea 37 nay. The bill would have still passed.

You cannot blame it all on McCain.

Now, lets all ban together and get the word out to the independents and undecideds about who caused this mess and who cared enough about us to go to Washington to kill the original draft of this bill.

McCain/Palin ‘08

I’s Still pissed ANY Republicans VOTED FOR THIS! If Harry Reid wanted to pass a Bill he should have had mostly (only) Democrats.

Why were auto sales down? It can’t be because financing wasn’t available. We bought a new truck two weeks ago... no problem with obtaining the loan. My friend bought a car the week before. Same thing...no problem.

this legislation is far from binding. The next POTUS (McCain) can undo this IF we get more conservative Senators and Reps. The House may kill this... but I would guess it passes. And for those decrying this - the goal for McCain is to get the economy story off the lead of the news. This is the most expedient way to do that. Fix it later if need be by Executive Orders and such. Seems to me that China and Saudi Arabia may be threatening to cut off our monetary supply (according to DeMint). I am against Gov involvement in this matter as I feel the free market will adjust itself, but with Christmas approaching - credit needs to be freed up. It’s a fecal sandwich dipped in urine, but McCain’s standing in the polls forced him to vote for this sewage.

Not yet! Have you no faith in what real America is all about? WE are not all socialists...at least I'm not! If nothing else this stuff is pissing me off so much I'm actually thinking about getting involved and running for some office in my county.

We can sit here and bi*ch and moan, bite our sides, and gnash our teeth! How many of us take the time to get out there and do something about it? Sara started at a P.T.A. meeting for God's sake. Stop the whining and do something about it! Here watch this!

Like it or not McCain is our savior...

McCain is nothing more than the lesser of 2 evils. I'll vote for him, but not because I believe in him. We are being sold out.
