Promote one message per day, repeated by every single Republican on every media outlet. It’s called “staying on message” or “media discipline”. Democrats can do it in their sleep. Republicans are not used to it because they too often try to make friends with the media rather than handle them. Also, instead of responding to Democrat attacks defensively (by denial), Republicans need to turn the attacks around and offer how Democrats are simply trying to hide their own culpability for creating the mess we’re in.

I just heard on Fox News that John Kerry said that the senate might have to step in and resolve this issue....

My head is exploding! Mr. Kerry, I have a suggestion for you...this might be your blank check to hand out, but when it’s MY NAME ON THE SIGNATURE LINE, I WILL DETERMINE HOW IT’S SPENT!!!!! And you can take that to the bank!

Caruba wouldn’t be drooling if he had the feckless John McCain for a candidate. Even Bob Dole would be attacking the Dems about this fiasco, but not Maverick John McCain, oh no, he’s above that “partisan” stuff. He’d rather lose an election (and the country) to a person who would immediately try to institute as much Marxist legislation as he possibly could. Good old Maverick John. I’ll send in my campaign contributions just as soon as I see the first McCain ad pinning this debacle on the Dems. And not before.
