Our public debt or spending has NOTHING to do with the refusal of the democrats to keep tabs on its very liberal lending program. What do they call it? A strawman?

...seems every time I hear “clinton surplus” they always leave out the word “projected”

And the projections were built on the false numbers in the dot com bubble. Also, it is as if September 11 never happened.

Sensenbrenner Wants No Part of Bailout

Washington, DC, Sep 29 -

Menomonee Falls Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner issued the following statement today on his ‘NO’ vote on HR 3997, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008:

“I am voting ‘NO’ on the bill the House will vote on later today because it will subsidize Wall Street on the backs of hard working taxpayers and small businesses on Main Street.

“To put it plainly, this legislation will not work. It will put an unbelievable amount of taxpayer money at risk, and penalize those who used common sense during a time when others elected to ignore reason by making decisions that led them to live beyond their means. It is unfair and irresponsible to ask conscientious taxpayers to now shoulder the burden and debt of those with poor foresight.

“Moreover, the federal government has no business injecting itself into the free market system, and essentially, taking it over. This completely defeats the purpose of such a system, and will have a chilling effect on future businesses that may think twice about entering the market if they have to compete with the American government. This is contrary to the spirit of American entrepreneurialism that is the foundation of our nation, and would turn our American Dream into an American Nightmare.”

I don’t know how to make this a link but you can copy and paste to see the record from The Bureau of Public Debt re the Budget deficit. This proves Clinton never had a surplus. Oh, I guess I do know how to make this a link.

How so very true...the operative word was and is ' projected'.
Projected in that their definition of full employment (i.e. 6.5%) was 'projected' to get much better, their 'projected' dot.com 'bubble' was going to greatly expand as was the housing 'bubble', 'projected' in that the Clinton Administration ignored the terroists acts (World Trade/USS Cole/Sudan/etc...and the Democrats never include the downward turn the economy, the American psyche took after 9-11.

Amazing how the Democrats/MSM view of Clinton's projections took on being 'reality' in these ensuing years.

Hillary=next Senate majority leader?

No doubt. That is, if Dems keep control of the Senate, which I think is projected to be the case. She'll pick up the sympathy vote from those who think she was burned in the primary. Is there any doubt that she would be a more effective Majority Leader than Reid?
