I would say the America is entering the New Dark Age. I fear for my children.

I share your fear, whitedog.

Stay well, and vigilant.

The need is to get it to a larger audience through making it an article and getting it published in a wide print distribution medium.

There is little interest in such aritlces, except in conservative publications, and that viewership, like this, simply amounts to preaching to the choir.

Thanks for the kind words, nonetheless.

You used too many words. The Sheep will never take the time to read it ... Besides, “Celebrity Dancing with the American Idols who Want to be Millionaires with a better View of Regis and Kelly on the next Oprah” is on next...

I share your cynicism, and your evaluation of our countrymen's apathy and ignorance -- which doesn't engender a whole lot of optimism for the future of our republic.

Thanks for the clarification. The creature from Jekyll Island is quite complex as well as quite unknown. I appreciate your not flaming.

A few weeks ago I emailed an honest Democrat friend and invited him for coffee next door to the local Democrat office. He was really interested in my tale about the old time labor organizers and sloganeers naming names and kicking ass of the present wreckers great grandfathers. This guy's folks were probably Reagan Democrats, which is a good demographic for us to cultivate.

There needs to be some really awakening event to focus attention on these issues. Something that will draw everyone's attention and can be used as a waking call.
A martyr for the cause and widespread support groups.

... do not give up the items we are protected and ensured to be able to freely own, by our beloved US Constitution, in it's wise Second Ammendment. It is the final line of defense from tyranny. If elitist, holier-than-thou tyrants take power, that will be one of the first things for them to go after, mark my word. History is replete with examples.

Absolutely. Our Second Amendment RKBA is possibly more important than it has ever been, and will become moreso with each passing day.

Best to you and yours in these troubling times, AIT.

This economic meltdown is occurring largely as a result of socialist special interests pressuring their friends in congress to relax the underwriting standards for home mortgages. Those friends in congress used all manner of grotesque extortion and shakedown techniques, made legal through changes in law (most notably the Community Reinvestment Act), to pressure the banking/mortgage industry to grant hundreds of thousands of loans to low-income and minority citizens whose economic backgrounds exhibited little or no ability to repay those loans.

Good post, but you're missing the forest for the trees. The thing that is currently tanking our economy (and the economies of the world) is the credit derivatives market.

It was created as a way to extract enormous returns from 'paper' that was just experiencing a 'good' return. It was huge greed.

The mortgage bubble popped in July 2007, and the 'smart people' that created the credit derivatives market didn't build into their plan what would happen in that event.

What 'happened' was the creation of a huge, unsatiable economic monster that is on the warpath. It is eating gargantuan companies.

And it's only on the appetizers.

This bailout plan will not work. Look for 3 to 5 days of euphoria in the stock market - and then the credit crunch will begin taking place again, and there will be no stopping it for quite a while.

But neither Obama or McCain are going to fight off the bailout fraud, to my knowledge.

I believe you're right. I intend to vote for McCain/Palin, but, should they be successful, that only signifies that our slide into socialism (or worse) will occur more slowly than it would under Obama/Biden. Corruption in the rest of the government is too entrenched, and the tendency to compromise on the part of coservatives is too well-practiced, to turn things around at this point.

As mentioned to Desdamona above, my honest Democrat friend and I are meeting again to see if we can organize a pro-American group of local citizens who can get together and drum out our concerns. However, we have agreed not to formally organize this until after the election so as not to have raw, deeply emotional politics poison the waters.

I wouldn't flame it because it's true and there are a lot of people in denial that there are some really depraved money and power hungry people out there who are willing to destroy everything in order to have all the money and power. And the fact that the name Rockefeller keeps coming up in connection with things like the UN, the invention of PR, etc., IMO, adds credence to the argument.

BTW, the book about the secret meetings in 1911 when the plan was laid out for the Federal Reserve is actually titled The Creature from Jekyll Island

Well written screed... but as I have proposed a few times here..
Obama, Hillary and McLain.. were merely plans "A, "B", and "C".. of/by those you mentioned above .. MClaim himself becoming the republican candidate is a travesty.. I must admit that adding Sara Palin to the mix was pure genius.. a brillant tactic.. Palin is just glitter on the Christmas Tree.. Veeps do pretty much nothing.. But it sure fooled ((ME))... I was not going to vote at all making a statement.. As WAS millions of others.. Does that make me a FOOL?.. Being fooled like that?.. Absolutely..

You must admit whoever is running this Chinese Fire Drill of a political ruse, is SMART.. Just when America is getting ready to notice that Barry Obama has no more qualifications to be President then does P.Diddy.. WE are given something to distract us.. FINANCIAL MELTDOWN...

Golllleeee!.. Shazaam.. Somebody is pretty smart.. Fooled ME... Last nights debate appeared to be other than a play too.. I have a question though.. Since Americas "money" is fiat money.. merely paper.. well then is the financial meltdown also merely ON PAPER?.. And can be "solved" by double entry jedi accounting tricks?.. You know journal entries?..

Here I sit, Scratching my head like a Bobobo chimp on Monkey Island wondering where all the food comes from..

We have somewhat of a double edged sword here. Between Obama's ACORN type antics, and McCain allowing everyone one of God's Children and his brother who broke laws to get here or stay here (many of them part and parcel of the sub prime meltdown you speak of), then we are seriously screwed as the United States of America.

Maybe the best we can ask for is to hold the line with McCain as a toehold, and then massive encirclement around him from DAY ONE to keep one of his pens, old or otherwise, from signing legislation or executive orders amnestying millions of these invaders and outsiders--he serves one term, and we coast back to full conservative mode with President Sarah Palin in January 2013 after she beats the pantsuit off of crusty Hilary. Obama aims to do the same thing as McCain on border sovereignty and "regularizacion". Really, that is where I see the greatest peril, and the Sunset (for America) so aptly represented in your photograph there.

I had a similar thought when I read joanie’s post. Sarah may be our last, best hope on all this and obviously there are many who don’t want her messing up their system/plan someday.

Yes. The democratic party left them. They are far more rational than, say, a good number of my machine democrat relatives.

Well done indeed.

Henry Adams, descendant of two Presidents, wrote that no American dies in the country of his birth, meaning that in a lifetime the country changes into the unrecognizable. It seems that we all face that fate.

There is little consolation in it but I don’t think we are going down alone. The whole globalized structure is likely to take a tumble. The maddening part is that we have been led into this debacle by fools and knaves.

I couldn't agree more, mark.

If my essay were much longer, I believe it would have turned people away.

Our public education system is nothing more than an indoctrination facility anymore -- teaching children what to think rather than how to think.

I am a teacher, and I have discovered over the last twenty years or so that, unless they are provided a road map detailing how to get from Point A to Point B, American children are no longer able to navigate any intellectual pathway.

That state of affairs came about purposefully. The left needs to keep the masses in a condition where they need to be led around by the nose in order to move from day to day.

Critical thinking, and the ability to analyze a situation, widespread among the people, are majors roadblocks to the imposition of socialist rule. So filling children's heads with politically-correct 'facts', rather than teaching them to think on their own, is a distinct goal of the current public education system. And they're well of their way to achieving that goal.

Thanks for the excellent insights.
