You’ve got it backwards. Obama isn’t trying to play UP his race, he is trying to play it DOWN. He’s trying to counter the Bradley affect.
He’s trying to let white voters know that while he is Black, he isn’t one of those radical blacks.
Blacks protesting Obama isn’t black enough sends a signal to “racist whites” that it is really OK to vote for Obama.
Sickening really, when you think about the duplicity involved.

There is no way you get into those rallies with those signs.
The signs, made little to no sense, with the kkk stuff.
The guys were orderly paid chomps, lacking the usual hysteria.
They got to stay, way too long and exited without a scene.
And most of all, Barry had to bite the sides of his mouth and avert his eyes to keep from cracking up laughing.

I haven’t been to a rally since 2004, is this the norm for McCain too, or just special coddleing to protect “the annointed One?”
There was a thread today on an Obama rally where it talked about the camera and phone ban.
