I thought Howard’s remarks were quite sad. Lord only knows how the Civil War is portrayed in bog-standard public schools (assuming Howard attended history class) but I doubt he would have wanted to grow up in a place where ‘Dixie’ was the national folk song.

If you click on the YouTube links, you'll find that the worst part isn't what Howard said. It's in the comments that follow, a free-flowing cesspool of n-words and orders to go back to Africa, far too much evidence of this country's ever-present racial divide.

At one time I was a huge Maverick’s fan. Then Cuban turned liberal and brought politics in it. Now this. I boycotted all games last year. I guess I can now permanently scratch them off my list and consider them as one of my enjoyments of the past.
