What was that about Gallup/CBS-NYT saying today Obama has a 5 pt poll lead? (sound of crickets chirping)

“I don’t want to appear racist and it’s nothing personal but I just don’t know who he is. He seems kind of snobbish. I work at McDonald’s and they’re not too bright there so a lot won’t vote for him because his name sounds like Osama bin Laden.

It's like it's 'American Idol' to choose the president. I don't like all the mystical, transcendental stuff from him. Wow! Did this guy nail it.

Some of the best election coverage seems to be from the UK.

Paul Barry, 50, a shipping manager, said he would not vote for Mr Obama. "I'll probably stay at home. It's all a media love fest with Obama. It's like it's 'American Idol' to choose the president. I don't like all the mystical, transcendental stuff from him. "Anyone can be in favour of change and brotherly love. Yes, he's inspirational. So why not give him his own show after Oprah? I'm into reality. I want to know the facts about what he'll get done. We need the meat and the potatoes, not just pie in the sky."
That pretty much sums it up. Get enough of these voters to stay home (or even switch to McCain-Palin) in CO and NV and the election goes to the GOP ticket.

LOL! I think Gallup/CBS-NYT didn't count a lot of the PUMAs, did they? It seems despite appearances, Obama's internals still don't look good!

Seems like Hillary blew a good chance to become a republican.
To: bruinbirdman
Maybe because they know that she doesn’t really mean it?

"Obama's too young and inexperienced," said Mary Jane Melchior, a retired teacher in her 70s. "I got my book signed by Hillary and I told her, 'In four years, I will be here for you'. She said, 'Thank you very much'. "She had the know-how, the intelligence, the character and the relationships to get things done for us. Will I vote for Obama? I can't quite get those words to come out of my mouth but I'm a Democrat and I'll back the Democratic candidate."
This woman lies, she'll stay home or vote for McCain then vote Democrat for others on the ballet, like her senator, and congressman.

The telling line in this article came after the excerpt, and, if it is the same nationally, the Obama folks just s--t themselves:
28 per cent of former Clinton supporters in Ohio said they would vote for Mr. McCain
28 percent of eighteen million votes is slightly over five million votes.
They can't overcome that if the PUMAs are mostly middle-aged women. He can't win without a substantial lead in that demographic, and, from what I've read, he doesn't have it.

Very interesting...........
I hate to think that there are too many people who would confuse Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden.
Then again, I remember just before Obama named Biden as his running mate, they said that congressman Chet Edwards was on the short list of running mates. But that they eliminated Chet Edwards because they would have had to spend too much time explaining that Chet Edwards was not the disgraced John Edwards.

There's evidence of a lot of a split ticket voting in states like VA. If McCain does lose, I will eat crow for my convention night prediction which held McCain-Palin won the election.

Nope he doesn't. So was the MSM lying to us tonight when they said Obama retook the lead?

You can make anybody lead if you weight the polls correctly.

Well the CBS poll was of registered voters and had 10% more dems polled.
That’s about 4 or 5 percent too many.
