Actually you have to go one level up the tree. The reason these loans were around at all was the very loose money policy of Greenspan. You have loose money and no personal responsibility from the borrowers and you get this mess (i.e. public institution trying to maximize shareholder value while trying to layoff the risk) it ends up in very creative SIVs and backed by CDS to service demand.

He needs to put the blame on the liberal loan policies pushed by Democrats.

There was no liberal democrat decree REQUIRING banks to give out loans to people with no money down/no doc's with sketchy credit.

Banks had so much cheap money they were like drunken sailors. Again the idiot borrowers have as much blame. I don't feel sorry for them if they loose theitr home(s).

Screw em. BTW: I never said democrats were good for the economy..just thta the mess were now in has equal blame across the board.

This fits in pretty well with Rush's show today:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury.

From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back to bondage.

Ted Nugent should record a version of “Baracuda” and release it for campaign use.

The only thing BHO proposed in the Senate was his Global Poverty Act....and it’s still out there.

from the nasty perezhilton.com site

quote

Music makers don’t seem to like the McCain/Palin bid for the presidency.

Van Halen spoke out against the McCain’s campaign’s use of their tune last week.

And, now, rocker ladies Heart have taken legal action against the GOP ticket.

Lawyers for Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson have issued cease-and-desist letters to the McCain/Palin campaign, demanding that their 1977 hit Barracuda not be used as Palin’s theme song.

Barracuda was used on Thursday night both to introduce Palin and on the heels of McCain’s acceptance speech, at the close of the Republican National Convention.

You know...I don’t purposely listen to Mark Levin since he’s not on here and I listen to Schnitt, but i heard him on Hannity yesterday talking about the turtle and how he donated so much to the dog/cats. He sounds like a real good guy...

I know it is controversial but there is no way the regulators should approve the BAC/MER merger. This could be even a bigger disaster than AIG, by far.

Repealing Glass-Steagell was wrong without a major, major ramp in FDIC.
