“Um, tanning beds and full-spectrum lights are useful during the 4 month “nights” to keep up vitamin D production and maintain mental acuity. Too bad the DUmmies are too stupid to know those common facts...”

That could probably help the DUmmies, living in their parent’s basements.

There are risks associated to overexposure to the ultraviolent lights of tanning beds and booths. Like the sun, tanning beds emit the UV rays UV A, UV B, and UV C.

The UV-A form is the most detrimental, with the UV-B variety being only slightly less harmful. These are the components responsible for exciting the skin and leading to an increase in melanin, which it the black pigment responsible for a darker complexion. The primary reason that a tanning bed is safer than the sun is that the bed is operated and controlled by humans.

Tanning beds should be used in moderation...But there are plenty Self Tanners on the market with no risks! great ones too!

Most people have better skin that live in Cold weather climates, as in the aging process both the Sun and Tanning beds can cause wrinkling of the Skin and Sun Spots that look like huge freckles....

I thought the same thing when I read that a few weeks ago. Caribou Barbie is an awesome nickname!

Oh, I try, at least to some extent, under that whole “know your enemy” rubric. If I ever truly understood their insanity, though, I’d probably seek professional help...

“In short, using tanning beds is risky behavior, and I am unsure why they are still legal.”

LOL!!!

Well, it would be funny, but I’m sure beach mom is serious.

Let’s just get it over with and make leaving home illegal. (sheesh)

I take it none of them ever lived in Alaska where you get very little sunlight for six months out of a year. A lot of folks have these to simply keep healthy.

I think the MSM got just a bit too desperate and forgot this convenient fact. Even in Juneau, where Governor Palin lived for the past few years, has almost the same north latitude as Saint Petersburg, Russia, a city famous for its very long days in summer and very long nights in winter!

I just read this and posted on a similar thread. According to Teaching the Infant With Down Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals light therapy is a tool to help the development of children with Down Syndrome... now, I wonder if the left took that into consideration or is this another case like the left mocking McCain's POW injuries.

“In short, using tanning beds is risky behavior, and I am unsure why they are still legal.”

The same reason liquor, cigarettes, ice cream, water skis, ladders, motorcycles, bicycles, and just about everything else we have is still legal. LIFE IS RISKY, YOU IDIOT.

It’s an insult to every bald man that Senator Biden has HAIR PLUGS.
