It’s ridiculous, Boardwalk, as your situation shows. For many voters, it has to do with his position and policies, not his race. Reasonable people look at the entire person.

The funny thing is that Obama is just the black John Kerry. If a few thousand Democrats that voted for Kerry wont vote for Barack Hussein Obama, son of Kenyan Socialist goat herder, because he's black and for no other reason, so be it.

A pollster calling Sandra Cichon, a 60-year-old Democrat from Spring Hill, would hear her identify herself as an undecided voter. But is she really? "I can't imagine having a black president, and I think he's inexperienced," she told a reporter recently, eventually acknowledging she was leaning unenthusiastically toward McCain. "I don't think we (Democrats) have a chance to be in the White House with Obama."

Gee, and you wonder why people don't trust the pollsters who are calling them.

These articles make me so sick! They are the epitomy of racism. For any editor to let them see the light of day should be summarily fired on the spot for contributing to the advancent of hatred!

There's no standard or shame anymore, we're simply losing our way as America.

It is not his skin color, it is the content of his “character”.

I love how the left always assumes polls are accurate and actual voting isn’t. The polls MUST reflect the true will of the people. Once they enter the voting booth, though, is when those racists decide “this black liberal [since nobody cares about the Bradley effect when the black candidate is Republican] perfectly matches my opinion, but I hate his skin color.”

Based on my experiences, the far more likely scenario is the reverse: the voters in question prefer the white candidate but are afraid they can’t articulate the reason strongly enough to not be viewed as racist. So, they’ll lie to a pollster and claim to support the black candidate.

Of course, I also am of the opinion that this PARTIALLY explains the Palin bump. Palin on the ticket now provides some limited PC cover. It’s probably only a small part of the Palin bounce, but McCain still needs to be mindful that he can’t count on the Bradley effect.

How many blacks will decide that they can’t vote for a white man?

Blacks would vote for ANY democrat and will vote AGAINST a conservative black man/woman (Uncle Tom/Aunt Jemima )but for a white liberal

Racism showed its head in the Dem Primary , where the black marxist Obama got 99% of the black vote and the white marxist Hillary got zilch

The so-called “Bradley Effect” is often mischaracterized as racism, as it is here. But it’s not true. In fact, it is the result of the exact opposite. The Bradley Effect is the product of Political Correctness.

Lets face it, Tom Bradley was the kind of candidate who should have never been leading in the polls in a state like California in 1982. California was Reagan country. Bradley was an unabashed big government tax and spend liberal.

The real story is that if Bradley was white, he would have trailed by 10 points in the polls. But Californians are too self-conscious and politically correct to say they weren’t voting for the black guy. They wanted to project that they were open-minded, and were so afraid of being seen as racist, that they would rather overcompensate and be viewed as merely naive. But they proved they weren’t really that naive once they got in the voting booth.

0bama will face a similar effect this November. A lot of people claim they support 0bama, because it seems like the bandwagon to be on. But when it comes time to actually vote, they will know better than to take a gamble on a candidate so risky and inexperienced as Barack 0bama. If people want to gamble when they pull the lever, they’ll go play the slot machines in Vegas, not the voting booth.

Title should read:

Polls reflect political correctness, but ballots won’t

At the end of the day, American’s vote for what is best for our country regardless of skin color.

I just love the guilt angle of the piece, a blatent attempt to shame folks into voting their poll responses.

What ever happened to AFFIRMATIVE ACTION???
People got free educations because they were black.
People got jobs because they were black.
People got promoted because they were black.

Why not elect a president simply because he is black?????

A majority will decide that they cannot vote for that black man. It will have nothing to do with his "blackness." The ONLY racism is the charge that Obama should win because he is black. The Presidency is not an affirmative action position. Put up a qualified candidate and then we'll talk.

Hillary knew it first! “He cannot win,” she was telling people behind the scenes.
Fortunately nobody listened.

The pure and simple fact is that the voters decide what the country is ready for. If the voters don’t want a black president - so be it - it’s their right - like it or not.

my own guess is that the voters are less concerned about “race” with respect to barack - but are having real problems with Michelle.

If I were the republicans - I’d have her pics out there 24/7.

and so it begins.. They will stop at nothing to destroy this country so it can be rebuilt in the socialist model or the Dear Leader.
I'm telling you, the media is going all in. It would be a good time to stock-up on stuff and wait out the riots if he losses or wins for that matter. I predict riots that make a Detroit victory celebration look like a slumber party.

How many blacks will decide that they can’t vote for a white man?

Almost all of them, according to surveys.
