... and his judgment has been impaired...Hmmmm... That's a tough one... Trying to figure out how someone would be able to tell the difference between that and his normal routine... Still trying...

“He will meet his dad.”
Rumors had it that he may have killed his dad, when he found out his dad was getting ready to replace him in the succession and start an opening to the South. (His father was actually getting ready to make a visit to Seoul.)

Right. It is said that his dad was more or less retired from day-to-day running of the country. One day, he found out that folks at important industrial sector were starving and raw materials for factories were not supplied for a long time. The dad realized that his son was running economy to the ground, and decided to take charge again. The first thing he wanted to do is to improve ties with S. Korea to get his country out of economic disaster. That pretty much sealed his fate, because Kim Jong-il knew that he is a toast if his dad went through such a plan. Then the dad died in rather murky circumstances. So does the story go.

Right. Even at this moment, I think S. Korea, U.S., and China are very busy coming up with a contingency plan for possible political earthquake in N. Korea.
They must be going through various scenarios. Someday all these details behind the scene would come out as a book and it would make a fascinating read.

Forget it. He won't read it unless it is delivered by a senior official or politician from U.S.
