Charlie, there are a lot of “doctrines” President Bush has espoused, and it seems to me that you in the media are the ones that label them “The Bush Doctrine”. Do you mean the one about terrorist states harboring terrorists being treated no differently than the terrorists? (this is the only “Bush Doctrine” I, Burr5, with a PoliSci degree and 10 hrs. a day of news absorbtion could remember)
But Charlie, (she could have continued), I do remember other definitions of that phrase after 9-11, so you might want to pick one.
Gibson: The BUSH DOCTRINE. What is your opinion of it?
Sarah: You know, Charlie, the American people understand that 90% of the Washington press corp are Democrats, so you might want to be a little less “gotcha”-oriented.
Gibson: Don’t you realize how completely unqualified you are?
Sarah: Excuse me?
Gibson: What makes you think you have any business being a heart-beat away from the presidency, what with that disabled baby of yours, or your daughter’s, and all?

Watched Gibson’s interview of Palin this evening (Friday) ... it was much more respectful in tone from the interview last night. ABC Evening News is perplexed ...this women is beyond their liberal ability to quantify ... they’re flummoxed.

I hope this backfires on Gibson. She said “In what regard?” Could have been on any number of subjects. That was despicable.
Prior to this interview one heard talk from all quarters that it was good someone as informed and evenhanded as Gibson was going to conduct it. I myself never could distinguish him in any way from the rest of the MSM buttboys....I was right....he was as obnoxious and condescending as could be. I thought there was something inherently wrong with the way he handled the “Bush Doctrine” question, but Krauthammer illuminated it.
I couldn’t watch the whole thing, but in what I saw Gibson never sounded friendly, genial, never smiled, looked like he WASN’T enjoying himself....which leads me to believe the condescension wasn’t all his idea, that instead, he had orders that he should go after her that way.
Magnificent bastard Rove was on OhReally saying there are at least 4 “Bush Doctrines”. With us or agin us, will go with coalition of the willing or alone, preemptive strikes OK if imminent threat and build democracies where ever possible. Charlie picked one and Palin picked another one. Funny

Sarah just refused to be backed into either standing with Bush, which would play into Obama's hand, or going against the President and the Republican Party. She asked him to clarify the question and Gibson refused making it obvious he was fishing. Sarah just wouldn't bite so he tried to make her look dumb. It didn't work as well as he wanted and he appeared very frustrated at that point.
The whole mirthless and disorganized old media is steeped in these annoying and obsolete code phrases out of which the twitchy ants of the left construct their tenacious deceits. Gibson’s higher understanding of “the Bush Doctrine” is inaccessible somehow to Sarah Palin? What a farce.
