His career in politics having failed, 0bama is now trying his hand at being an inventor. First, the “sharper tack.” Next he will develop “sharper pencil lead.” He will then move on to fashion, where he will be a “sharper dressed man.” It’s just that every girl will not be crazy about him...

He’s making a major tactical error. Throughout the entire campaign dating back to the primaries, Obama has claimed that he is running a campaign of ‘hope’ and of new politics without all the mudslinging. Of course, we all know that’s a lot of bull, but some still believe it.
I think this has been one of the most brilliant aspects of the McCain strategy. By going after him aggressively, they’re forcing him to respond in kind and in doing so, he is not just off-message, but running counter to one of the central themes of his candidacy. He no longer represents hope and change and has lost his image as a unifier. Instead, he looks like a run-of-the-mill, divisive Democratic politician and a hypocrite, to boot, when he goes negative.
