Good point.
DOH!...
Has a VP candidate ever been dumped before in history? I suppose they could concoct some reason why he can’t do it—health?, etc., although anything at this point will be pretty darn obvious.
Perhaps they’re both working their courage up. Or preparing us for the announcement. I don’t suppose there’s anything in dem party rules that says he can’t switch horses at this point. Right now, he’s got nothing to lose and it might, or might not, steal the big mo back from McCain/Palin.
Or it might make both him and Hil a pathetic laughing-stock. Your choice.
When the opposition is pleased with your VP pick, you made the wrong pick.
The Biden pick just added fuel to the fire.
Burn baby, burn!
“This isn’t the Joe Biden I knew two weeks ago.”
Yes, they have. And then the candidate followed with a huge loss...
Vetter’s remorse.
You know, like “buyer's remorse” after you win an auction that costs more than you wanted to pay.
Regarding rumors of former president Bill Clinton's future as part of an Obama administration cabinet, the senator downplayed that possibility. "If you're a former president, I don't think you settle for a cabinet position," he said. "It's sort of like Mickey Mantle playing AAA (baseball). "There's nobody smarter in politics," Obama added. "I think he can be a great advocate for the campaign."
I can’t imagine Obama dropping Biden from the ticket. Biden would have to volunteer to leave but even then, having a presidential nominee dump his VP pick only a couple of weeks after selecting him would send a really poor message to the base and independents. It would show weakness and indecision, neither of which gets a candidate elected.
Do you think Hillary would join? I think she likes Obama floundering, although if he begged nicely and gave some big concessions, she might make him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Hillary seems done to me although they do say to never count a Clinton out. If Obama gets it she’s done. If McCain/Palin gets it, it makes it a lot harder for her to make a come back in 2012—especially if McCain/Palin ticket does well over 4 years.
“Could Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama be regretting his choice of Joe Biden to be his running mate on the November ticket?”
Really? Can’t fool ABC, can ya?
Not only did he choose a Washington insider, a plagiarist and a hack, Obama led with his considerable chin - an opening that McCain exploited with a DEVASTATING right hook by the name of Sarah Palin. Obama’s not knocked out - the MSM would never allow it - but he’s for sure taking a standing 8 count.
It could not have been professionals that made this choice. This was an amateur mistake, most likely made by B. Hussein, with a generous helping of poisonous input from his wife.
My other theory is that he WOULD have chosen Hillary, but that she expressly forbade it in exchange for not making a fight at the convention, and for her support on the stump. In other words, Hillary said: “You can have the historic nomination, B.O., but you cannot have me as the veep carrying the ticket over the finish line. Make it on your own, and if you fail get out of the way and give me my shot in ‘12.”
I’m sure there is plenty of “buyer’s remorse” going on throughout the democRAT party. And I don’t just mean over the Veep selection.
Spot on!
This is not about the No-Biden-Bounce, it about Buying-Barry-Remorse.
Could see a Palin v Clinton cage deathmatch in 2016 .... or 1012?
