If they want to celebrate a gay someone, why not pick someone everyone is familiar with and comfortable with. Like Liberace. Or Rock Hudson. I mean, either one of those guys (?) would be better than some guy in SF who is unknown out of SF.

Should this pass, I will ignore it in my classroom. Will not be mentioned, will not be condoned, will not be celebrated. Test scores are in the cellar, and they want to do THAT?

After calling to comment on this bill through the automated system, I called again to comment on SB60 (perennial bill to give regular drivers licenses/ID to illegal aliens). For the 2nd call, I chose Spanish (pressed 2 for Spanish, then 2 for legislation), in case they categorized support by language.

You can't comment through the Spanish menu. The recording says something to the effect that there aren't any bills pending before the governor because, as of October 14, all bills are signed or vetoed. Not sure to what year the Spanish announcer was referring. So, I guess the illegal aliens have to follow the English menu if they want to support/oppose SB60. :)

Because they need a "martyr." They need to be portrayed as victims instead of perpetrators. They need to point out "intolerent" opponents of the radical homosexual movement as being equivalent to Harvey Milk's killer.

AB 2567 passed the California Assembly and the Senate and is awaiting Governor Schwarzenegger’ s signature or veto.

Fortunately, this is not a law - at least not yet. It is on Schwarzenegger’s desk for signature. He just needs to know if he should approve this piece of garbage or VETO it.

There is a simple way to let the Governor know what you want him to do. Here is how you can make your position known:

1) Dial 1 916-445-2841. This gets you into the Governor’s phone system.

2) Press 1 for English

3) Press 2. This gets you into the poll to comment on legislation.

4) Press 1. This gets you into the queue to “vote” your opinion on AB 2567

5) Press 2 to record a NO (or veto) vote.

It takes less that 15 seconds.
